Just watched Blade Runner tonight. Thanks for the recommendation. The musical score in that movie was awesome. I'll add one to that list.

Good to see you enjoyed it. :)

Yes, Vangelis hit the jackpot with that mind-blowing soundtrack:

All movies carry characteristics of enlightenment. By making an arbitrary distinction, half of it is overlooked.

Are you looking for movies that don't chop wood or carry water? ;)

The Secret Life of Arrietty

(She reminds me of a couple of female bums here. smile.gif)

You being one of them, right? :D

Arriety is a good movie. Other anime flicks directed by Miyazaki and which touch on the topic of humans and their conflictive relationship with the natural environment/nature spirits are:

Highly recommended.

If you'd like to see one of the most accurate and awesome depictions of a psychedelic trip (peyote), watch the movie Blueberry

The movie itself is kinda slow and not awesome, but seen as a whole, it's very interesting.

I thought: Those animations in 3D, maybe even with a VFX helmet, would blow you away.

Probably the best film I've ever seen. Not available anywhere. I was gripped by it for days after.

Oops, I forgot about this other classic:

Stalker by Andrei Tarkovsky.

"...a dense, complex, often-contradictory, and endlessly pliable allegory about human consciousness, the necessity for faith in an increasingly secular, rational world, and the ugly, unpleasant dreams and desires that reside in the hearts of men." (http://www.slantmagazine.com/film/review/stalker/325)

Highly artistic and innovative movie.

amazing documentaries that pertain to our society and spirituality.

I've only read the video descriptions, but it sounds like 'You can always find something if you're looking for it'. All videos have the same theme (mind control, mass manipulation, subliminal messages etc.), and if you focus on it that much, you can find more than is there.

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

My alltime favorite scene of any movie ever!

I had the movie on video tape once and I watched this scene so many times that the picture was completely destroyed by streaks in the end, haha!

Why I started Nei Kung...? Hmmm, let me contemplate that question...

I like Nacir Khemir's work, and want to thank SIME for introducing me to it.

His "desert trilogy" is comprised of

Wanderers of the Desert - a strangely surreal and ambiguous piece that i just watched last night, much to my own enjoyment.. made 20 years before Bab'Aziz, there are some stark contrasts, but still an amazing film

The Dove's Lost Necklace - just found a copy on demonoid but haven't watched it yet.. waiting for girfweh to watch it w me :)

Bab'Aziz The Prince Who Contemplated His Soul - an amazing movie, stories within stories, all within the beautiful story of a child and her grandfather who are travelling in the desert to find a secret gathering of sufis which happens once every 30 years

Although not technically movies, I also want to mention the first three Silent Hill videogames. If you can get ahold of them, adapt to the now archaic controls, and analyze the plots, the enlightened aspects become apparent over time. :)
