Weird Nasal/Pulmonary Issue ?

Recommended Posts

Alrighty.. So since forever I think I had this weird issues related to most of the organs involved in the respiratory system:

- nasal and paranasal sinuses (probably)

- pulmonary tract

- probably something else

Now I've had this and doctors can't seem to understand what exactly it is but the symptomps are the following.

All-year long clogged nasal cavity and pus leaking in my throat (yuck). Weird coughs every now and then (mostly in the cold seasons).

I tried quite a few doctors including some of the best specialists and their best guess was - "Coughing variation of asthma" and that it's rather allergic. This means it's not a bronchial asthma but at times I will have trobule breathing due to excessive coughing and clogged nose and pus leaking is probably related to this year long allergy (to dust maybe ?). I haven't had any attacks since 7-8 years but the pus is still leaking and my nose is always clogged, and I'm pretty sure this is detrimental in the long-term, so I've decided to cure it once and for all.

The things they prescribed me were Flixotide and Flixonase, which are basically corticosteroids for the throat and nose. I used them twice and they worked pretty nice (5-6 years ago), but long-term use of corticosteroids is a pain in the ass.

I want to fix whatever is causing this (energy blockages or something else) and I'd like it if people with advanced knowledge on herbalism could tell me what to take.

Thanks.

If you have any allergy issues I strongly recommend trying Heel brand homeopathic remedy for hayfever and allergies. It works on the bodies over-reations which cause allergic symptoms and of the two people I know of who have used it their long-term allergy symptoms have disappeared and they rarely even have to take this nasal spray any more.

Lung issues and so forth can be treated by pungent or spicy foods according to TCM.

You might also want to take plantain tea (not the bananna plantain) which might help in a number of various way. Steep it for 20 minutes to get all the medicinal effects of it.

Apparently there aren't any negative drug interactions with plantain and I can't see how it could have anything but a positive relationship with the nasal spray above (just cleaning and clearing out the phlegm), I should say that I only know this stuff by my own research interests and am not a naturopathic doctor.

edited to add: aren't any negative drug

I would try a good acupuncturist before I relied on Western methods for this kind of problem.

I had allergies for years, took nasal steroids, antihistamines, and so on. All they do is address the symptoms. Herbs will mostly do the same. I don't take any allergy medication anymore.

So you would need to address the real cause of the problem. For example, at the energetic level the weakness is not coming from your sinus. It's coming from the descending colon, sigmoid colon, and rectum. There's definitely a straining weakness involved. That would be holding your breath and straining. That could be from doing #2 or from something like lifting weights, or both.

I also get both emotional and spiritual causes and there are triggers involved. When you suppress or deny negative emotions (confusion, frustration, anger, and so on) eventually there will be a price to pay. So a correction for negative emotions is in order.

You would also want to eliminate any triggers. Even just a simple case of feeling confined or trapped (that's a correction) can contribute to the reaction.

I am very curious on this because I am having the same symptoms. Not sure about the Pulmonary but everything with the nasal and lungs. Doctor prescribed me flonase but I havent used it cause I know it wont cure it. I was thinking it had to do with my allergy to cats but it really just started just before the winter. Hmmm keep me informed and I will do the same.

I bet SFQ can cure your problems. I think you said you've tried SFQ. Here's a trick I do to practice as much SFQ as I want

Sometimes I miss days and the last thing I want to do is practice. I dread the active exercises because I get uncomfortable and my legs itch. So what I do is I lay down and do a minimum of 1 hour small universe. This is relaxing and you get tons of benefit. Then I stand up and do a minimum of 20 minutes active exercises. Then I lay back down and do anywhere from 20 minutes to another hour. Then I do about 15 minutes of active exercises followed by 15 to 20 minutes of small universe sitting cross legged. I just keep rotating and get a ton of benefit from all the breathing and everything else. The rest of the day I feel tingly and the Chi is flowing good.
