Dancing around naked in the circle under the stars?

Thanks but no thanks , I ll leave this to Iceman and his posses.

Today seems very long although it is very short (this sound somehow quite Daoist unintentionally).

I will finish off a skirt that I am making soon or so and than aim for 2-3 hours mediational qi gong . Feel the craving for that sort state that one gets after deep practise .

I burned a candle and sat to meditate, but not for long, went to bed, nice long night to sleep.

Hurray for more daylight though- now that is something to celebrate!

I am happy to be becoming more "enlightened" although I would not want to be completely enlightened as there is peace and comfort in the darkness.

The old Solstice celebrations were important for the psychological health of communities, to connect people to the nature of change and to the rhythms of the earth, I think the winter solstice is especially important as it is all about the darkest night before the dawn, those people who say the old ways are just superstitious nonsense don't realise how disconnected they really are from the earth. Unfortunately I don't know of any Pagans but I would quite like to.

Being from an Iranian background, last night we celebrated what is known to us as "Shab-e Yalda". It's a winter solstice celebration we have every year. I'm not really sure of the history and roots behind it but I do know that eating watermelon and pomegranate is a way to celebrate :D MMMMMM. Wikipedia has a neat article on it if you wanna check out the history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yald%C4%81

By the way, 2,737 years is 1,000,000 days.

Which of course means nothing to coincidence theorists. :D

Dancing Fire Nakedness is a perfectly fine method... used by many shamanic traditions to enter into altered / heightened states of awareness.

Simply camping out in the wilderness increases my vitality / vividness 100 fold.... dreaming becomes amazingly powerful

I think its time to leave that gilded prison little birdy and fly away :P

* "During the reign of Emperor Cheng of the Han, hunters in the Zhongnan Mountains saw a person who wore no clothes, his body covered with black hair. Upon seeing this person, the hunters wanted to pursue and capture him, but the person leapt over gullies and valleys as if in flight, and so could not be overtaken. [but after being surrounded and captured, it was discovered this person was a 200 plus year old woman, who had once been a concubine of Qin Emperor Ziying. When he had surrendered to the 'invaders of the east', she fled into the mountains where she learned to subside on 'the resin and nuts of pines' from an old man. Afterwards, this diet 'enabled [her] to feel neither hunger nor thirst; in winter [she] was not cold, in summer [she] was not hot.']

The hunters took the woman back in. They offered her grain to eat. When she first smelled the stink of grain, she vomited, and only after several days could she tolerate it. After little more than two years of this [diet], her body hair fell out; she turned old and died. Had she not been caught by men, she would have become a transcendent." (Campany 2002)
