There are many people who really don't have a true self. They have always worn a mask of one type or another - always trying to be what they think others want them to be.

 

When we look for the 'real' person we find nothing but emptiness.

Who does have a true self and what is that exactly?

Don't we all wear masks? If not, I suggest that it's just a lack of awareness.

We are nursed and raised on the drugs of acceptance and approval, from childhood, through school, work, relationships...

It never ends until we see through it.

Even if we are not trying to be what someone else wants us to be, aren't we trying to be what we think we should be?

And where does that come from?

Then why do most fall for imperfections thinking that they are perfect?

 

Are they lying to themselves that these imperfections are perfect?

 

Are they ignoring the signs of imperfection?

acceptance and approval is a substitute for the love missing from your inner self

 

everyone thought they could regain the love missing from the creator with acceptance and approval from their parents, their mates/spouses, their children, their family, their peers and the rest of the masses
