when did the policy on swearing change?

Recommended Posts

Did I somehow miss something in the time I was lurking?

It does not bother me either way we are swinging here.

I just didnt notice anything that specifically. Either that or I missed it. Possible.

p.s. As a North Queenslander I tend to swear quite a bit when I talk. I just try not to do it too often when I type.

Yeah, I understand that y'all like using that "F" word. Always adds emphasis, hey?

Seems like the only time it becomes an issue is if it's used to degrade someone, and even then it has to be pretty direct and someone has to report it

I think that is pretty much valid.

I actually don't think it has really changed, has it?

When someone makes a post speaking to a really bad situation I can still respond with "That's fucked up."

But saying to another member "You are fucked up." would be totally unacceptable because it invokes the rule of personal insult.

I believe that when Sean first started thinking about establishing moderation on this board this was his major concern. Attack the message, not the messenger.
