Having grown up in Japan...I've seen the men sit on the trains reading their manga comics and other magazines. They also have this tendency to grope women while were all jammed on the train.

So IMO I think between the crazy porn and the sly groping they are repressed sexually. Well then again, I think they are repressed in a lot of ways.

I am not surprised to hear a line like that..given some lines that I am sure many women have heard in our lives!!!

Peace and Love! <3

Ya, groping definitely seems like a big Asian thing, although by no means exclusive to Asia. I think it's because most Asian females(in Asia)when encountering that will themselves feel ashamed, and not say a word. Such is 'culture'.

I will say though that in the area of China where I am the females are a bit spicy. By that I mean a man wouldn't dare to do that for fear of getting an earful in front of everyone or a good kick (literally).

These charts are interesting as well:

Satisfaction in Having Sex by Country

Percentage of People Having Sex Weekly by Country

Not only does Japan have the lowest rate of sex by week, but also one of the lowest satisfaction rates.

I was surprised at the rates for China, given the imbalance in the gender ratio. A lot of that might be due to prostitution though I suppose.

I found those percentages surprising Enishi, apparently Chinese people are enjoying sex by o.o2% more than in my home country! I fancy that that extra 0.02% is due to me moving to China

I really don't think those figures can be representative. You'd be hard pushed to get the majority of Chinese females to take a survey on sex, let alone to make a good judgement as to what constitutes 'satisfied'. If all your life you'd only eaten spongecake and never had any other other type of cake in your life, and you then took a survey 'are you satisfied with your cake?', you'd probably say you were very satisfied!

I had one of the most enjoyable days with my partner recently. We cooked scones, watched a super movie called Next and then had a blast discussing it. Such a great day.

But I didn't, what was the expression used recently.... that's right I didn't stick it in her.

I'm not surprised you didn't! After doing all that I'd be exhausted!

I think scones were your big mistake. Way too energy intensive and not sexy at all! Try these next time:

Uncooked Chocolate Bars

60 grams butter or margarine

200 grams dark chocolate

3 tablespoons golden syrup

250 grams digestive biscuits, crushed

Place butter, chocolate and syrup in a saucepan and heat gently until melted. Stir in the biscuits and mix thoroughly. Turn into a greased and lined shallow 18 cm square tin and smooth the top with a palette knife. Leave to set, then cut into bars. Makes 16.

I cannot express enough my deepest joy at being copied to 'Cake corner'.

I do, however, think you have made a gross error of judgement. Uncooked chocolate bars are in fact a 'biscuit' and not a cake. Therefore, it is plain(chocolate)to see that I have been mis-categorized.

Usually when my biscuits have been misrepresented I would look the other way, yet I find this harder and harder to do these days. I understand that in the world of desserts it is necessary for biscuits to be integrated, however, not at the expense of a biscuits sovereign identity.

Whereas I recognize a form of biscuit/cake apartheid is not what anyone wants, it is disturbing that uncooked chocolate bars would so quickly be simply added to that section.

Disturbed and confused.

When I was stationed in Germany my wife practically didn't want to go out in public with out me due to all the perverts that appraoched her. Back in the states this never happens to her (plus she gained a lot of weight since then too). Also in Germany is the only time this happened to me, I was using the toilet at the train station at night and some dude walked up to the stall next to me and started jacking himself, which has never happened to me here. Germans are some kinky peeps, though I did love that country.

Oh my this is just sad. Most of the time the society, culture, religion has something to do with that. In some books it was stated that sex was suppressed by religion for them gain control over their people. Well, there are some who practice celibacy to gain more energy, there is nothing wrong with that and some are more expressive with their sexuality. As they say to each his own.

To whom it may concern(Apech7),

As I have been very disturbed by heinous copying of a biscuit recipe to 'cake corner' I have spent hours trawling the net to prove that cakes and biscuits do have some relevance to the topic being discussed.

My search was not in vain, as I came upon a very reputable survey from a secret website that you will not be able to find(due to your lack of website finding experience). Here below is proof positive of the relevance of sex/cakes/biscuits AND Japan:

There is no need to apologize Apech, I fully understand. We all make mistakes. Let that be an end of it!

Dear NMNMTTTNMTTM,

Although I uphold the equality of all the varieties of pastries across the world I have to say I found it necessary in this case to take action. I cannot stand by and allow chocolate yumminess to be isolated from the rest of cake-kind and so I unilaterally decided that the definition of cake should encompass the whole of bakery (notwithstanding the uncooked nature of the 'self' of biscuit when understood in terms of Dzogchen) or either that/ or not the cake may be the product of cultivation, that is non-ejaculatory cookery.

I hope I have clarified the situation.

Well.... I think that deserves a response. Where would you put Scones then? Mal mentioned scones, and I quote: Mal - 'scones...'.

Bearing in mind your new found desire as a 'cake supremacist' should you not have copied Mals word 'scones' to the cake corner?

And before you say it, yes, I am aware that a scone plays on both teams due to its lack of actual sugar content.

I insist on apologizing and will do so in due course.

I shall look forward to your due course occurring; as you are, yourself, a Masterbaker, it is only fitting.

Mal's scones are his own personal business provided they remain covered in public places.

Due to a technical fault I am unable to apologize at present. I can however, apologize for not apologizing for what I am not apologizing for.

Sorry about that.

A scone is an apology for a cake.

A scone (is gone) is definitely what Mrs Whatsherface probably (sic) advocated for the masses when she said (in the book) "Let them eat cake".

-----off to cake corner :)

marie antoinette, thank you google for making me seem helpful ^_^

Honestly I think she said that as a punch in the face to the people about to tar and feather her. it's always presented that she was just ignorant of the people's suffering.

So... uh... this topic has seemed to turn to sweet dough and what have you, but I did want to say something on the topic of sex in Japan:

Sex is an exchange of masculine and feminine energies, right? But having been asexual throughout most of my life... and androgynous, I have a viewpoint of this: Not every man has an excess of masculine energy and not every woman has an excess of feminine energy.

Maybe the lack of sex is less about unhealthiness, and more about more balanced energies naturally.

Or maybe it's the number of guys there having extramarital affairs. I'm on another forum, and one of the women there is in Japan teaching... and is hit on by married men. I'm not sure whether it happens with more frequency than in America... or other countries, for that matter. Just suggesting it as a possibility.

I have read that asians have slightly lower testosterone levels. THat could mean a slightly lower sex drive but it would still be just a slight effect. My experience with asian woman have not been that they are any less sexual than western women. INeither have I heard any guy with experience with asian women say that they are less sexual than western women once they are in the bedroom. THey might behave seemingly less sexual in public though depending on the local culture.

So I would say that the most likely conclusion is that the guys there are doing something wrong or the life conditions such as work (in Japan at least) and the prostitution is messing stuff up. FOr me groping women on the subway is an indication that a man is totally out of sync with womens sexuality (and his own) and is unlikely to be able to please the women he has sex with very much.

It's absolutely normal (nevermind rare these days) to only be interested in sex+love, I've always been like that (with a few exceptions I regret. Love without sex is a teenage thing called "a crush" and sex without love is a pain-processing thing called "traumatic developmental history").

Where I come from men groped you too, often in the middle of the street and always on a packed bus while looking elsewhere with a deadpan expression -- like in that John Lennon song which is my absolute all-time favorite, Happiness Is A Warm Gun --

well, they did this to me since I was, like, thirteen and projected nothing but "I'm absolutely not ready for this, unavailable, too young, too normal, please give me some human boundaries" which of course didn't work -- but by the time I was, like, fifteen, I had a counter maneuver mastered to perfection -- a discreet knee-to-the-crotch kick, while looking elsewhere with a deadpan expression. Highly recommended if you don't have a gun.

That song is not what you think it means. The gun is symbolic of a syringe.

Yes! I've also read that Asians focus more energy in their head - resulting in higher wisdom, IQ and spiritual capability. The opposite is true for Blacks. But this would just be a slight effect, so might only partially explain the lack of wisdom & spirituality in the US?

So I would say that the most likely conclusion is that the guys here are doing something wrong or the life conditions such as drugs and child molestation is messing stuff up.

Yes, in a movie episode I once posted a link to. So I am aware of this interpretation.

However, sometimes a gun is just a gun. And sometimes it is sex. And sometimes it is love. A warm gun means "loaded and ready for explosive release," "silently full of potentials." So it may mean many, many things. A creative impulse. A destructive impulse. Or merely the knowledge of being armed and not powerless. Armed with anything that eliminates powerlessness and victimhood. An unshakable, unshatterable core belief that is more than a belief, a knowing. Inner strength. Inner peace. Magic aptitude. Whatever. "I know nobody can do me no harm because happiness is a warm gun." I don't call this song "an all-time favorite" for nothing. It is profound, it is not trivial, it is not "about" one thing no matter which one thing that is.

By the way, I've asked this question many times and I will ask it again, because I still don't have a definitive answer. What does this line mean:

"a soap impression of his wife which he ate and donated to the National Trust?"

So is that a round about way of saying black people are stupid Vortex?

I've known some highly intelligent black people and I've known some incredibly stupid Asian people. That also goes for the white race too.

I do actually agree with you that many Asians do focus a lot of energy in their heads, this in part seems to be due to their education system forcing them to do so from a young age. I've just never noticed it resulted in wisdom, quite the opposite I'd say actually.
