Why are you here?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

Why are you here?

I ask because with the current discontent of

some individuals posting here...I would like to

know what is the motivation behind participating

in a forum that is about Taoism, if not to try and

learn from the other members?

It is why my path brought me here.

Every day that passes is to me a learning opportunity,

to being open to releasing what I may have previously

been aligned to, in favor of accepting new information

to allow my own perception to grow.

Every day I am using the consciousness that is growing

inside of me to interact with people in a more open,

and increasingly less judgmental way.

I am constantly catching myself making a judgment and having

to correct my narrow thinking at that moment.

I am less fearful of what others think of me, or whether I fit

the role they would have me play, or not.

My clarity of insight is more rational and impartial,

because of my mindfulness of the Tao, and the knowledge

that we are all part of the whole.

This to me represents the greatest sense of responsibility

for others that I have ever felt in my life.

It is because of this feeling, that I wanted to impart to you

something I find very useful to myself and hope you may use as well.

My sense of contentment is of my own will.

A decision to not be purposefully negative, casting a shadow on

all I take in, has been made by me.

How we "choose"to see what is before us,

or within us, is just that ...a choice.

You may wonder why am I telling you this...

This is why I am here, what about YOU?

Peace and understanding!

Because you can often find little gems of information.

Also because you can talk about certain kinds of subjects that in the everyday world people would consider 'crazy talk', here on this site, only about half the people consider you crazy... which let's face it, is a marked improvement of society in general.

To start with, I really needed help.

Then I found so many people willing to help.

That I want to help too.

Also, because I sometimes feel I contribute to a certain amount of worldly evil in my professional life, I like tipping the scales all the way back the other way when I get the chance. TTB's provides such opportunities :ninja:

Also, the people are smart, insightful.

Also I get to talk about weird stuff that I don't get the chance to talk about with (very) many other people. It's not like "qi-gong" and consciousness-training is a common activity

I came/come here to get connected to others of like interest. Specifically, Qigong/Neigong and Teachers/Masters of those arts.

To find information on Taoism, information to increase my spiritual side more, information to help develop my abilities more...and while I'm at it, I can help others who experience problems that I overcame.

Hi

I'm here to exchange views with other people on a spiritual path. Sometimes I like to debate...sometimes I'm forced to debate. Some other times I like to stay away...

Peace

Help others and ask nothing in return. I do not wish to become anyone's favourite so no need to add my as a friend or favourite.

In the end we are all alone and breaking through Samsara is a darn hard task.

Regards.

Because I promised Vajrahridaya's guru that I would "be the sand in his soft Tibetan saddle".

It's for his own good, believe me. :)

R O F :lol::lol:

Because there are some people here who actually listen to me and respond in one way or another. My cats don't.

Also because I enjoy talking and listening (reading) to others and learning about Taoist Philosophy as applied to 'real' life.

Because this is one of the few places where people understand me. The Tao (or my Castaneda leanings) are the most important things in my life. Without these two I can't imagine the mundane existence of how I used to think, the things I did. The Tao Bums is where I find like-minded people - they're not that easy to find in the middle of the bible belt. I truly am grateful that you're here. I love you, TB's.

everyday life in my experience is not exactly filled with people who inspire, support, or surpass your bhakti, least of all in a positive sense,

or who share an endless drive to test, seek out, and achieve their full potential beyond their human and self-imposed limitations,

who are at terms with the nature of impermanence, illusion, strain, suffering, oppression, true meaning and true identity...

to put it in practice, to be a genuine living expression of...

Becouse I get to talk about things I cant say anywhere else ,unless I want to be considered mad.

And love reading about peoples expiriences ,and understanding and percieving -it is inspirational.

Also there are some really fantastic links and good information people come up with.

And people here are special  individuals who are fresh and not scared to stand out and share their opinions.

Sun - I wish you were 'somewhere in Ohio' instead of 'somewhere in Balkan'. I think you would be a very nice person to have as a friend.

suninmyeyes and everyone else...

Wow...now that's inspiring to me.

I thank you all!

It is truly humbling to read replies of such sincerity.

I see from the post's that we really are here for the same

reasons, to learn and grow, and become who we really are.

We all share many, if not most of these things in common.

Not only are we all part of the Tao, but our interests are

aligned as well.

I Love a good insightful discussion, and encourage it in my

life. It is great to be able to visit this forum and talk openly

and ask, as well as give, to every one.

You all... are helping me with my practice of becoming.

I thank all of you for helping me!

Peace and understanding!
