Funny "master" Mak is back with his daoist baseball

LOL

Is this a different "Mak"? I assume you're referring to Mak Tin Si. Someone please correct me, but "Mak" is just an honorific prefix, right? If yes, there are probably many different "Maks" out there in the world. Also, those movements really look like sword movements done with bats.

Yeah. I picked up on that and it is that that inspired me to make my post.

It's the Mak Tin Si. Don't know if it is just an honorary title (like Mack The Knife?)and not to be confused with the MAK bin Laden terrorist org from the 80's? Paul

No, Mak is the funny man family name

Tin Si would be the honorific title, if the funny man would not have given it to himself like he did :)

I wish he used beer bottles instead of baseball bats .... maybe next time

Hehehe. Yeah, that would be cool. And shattering too.

Peace & Love!

Well, the video doesn't discredit him in any way -- he is soft and supple, good posture, nice footwork, adequate interplay of light and heavy... notice how he flies up effortlessly like a balloon, despite his bulk? If he wants to do a baseball bat form, why not?.. I was taught to use anything handy when necessary... a real-life fight would incorporate any random objects from one's environment, absolutely, so why not practice with some of them?.. Besides, he looks like someone who would do reasonably well with any traditional form -- I'm sure baseball is not where he started.:)

Yup :)

I think Yoda follows him (from memory).

Anyway I agree with Taomeow his movement looks okish and why not use baseball bats? I thought his back looks a little stiff - but what do I know?

Good luck to him.

Ooo, that's funny I got it all backwards! My apologies. OK, so "Tin Si" is an honorific title. I'll try to remember that.

For what it's worth, while I didn't agree with everything Mak Tin Si said, I didn't dislike him to the same degree as some people here.

I would buy a book on your stuff apepch7, seriously.

Mak Tin Si = Herman Mak

Herman's Daoism = My way or the highway.

Personally you might find more relaxing quiescence from smoking a pack of Pall Mall Menthol light 100's on a power drag than using his methods.
