I'M UNEMPLOYED! ASK ME A QUESTION! (I DID NOT CONVERT WITH THE COMPANIES POLICIES) (LAST WORDS OF MY MANAGER BEFORE I WALKED OUT OF HER OFFICE)

Recommended Posts

A company built websites for Real Estate Agents....

This company is being run to the bone.

Abusive

I had a meeting with CEO and he told me, "instead of you going home and looking at porn, you should be studying our competitors." When I told him, I was not getting paid for such a thing, he basically told me, I better shape up or he will get rid of me."

Then he told me... "Why is a girl, who has no high school diploma, beating you by 6 to 1 margin?"

I said... "Maybe it's because she has a hot voice and she can call the guys hunny and dear?

And sex sells?

I was in Sales.

I worked there for 6 months.

There is much more shit that happened....

I told a dozen of people what the CEO told me, letting everyone know that they are working for a person who does not care for his employees and that they were better than this.

But it backfired...

The management found out and I was fired for this.

A 6-1 margin is quite large Leon. I don't think it's simply her voice or sex appeal(although that does come in handy).

Honestly speaking I think, by and large, people of a spiritual bent are not suited for jobs in sales. It can be somewhat ruthless.

One of my first jobs when I was 15 was a part time job in a bike shop. It was a fairly large shop. At that time mountain bikes had just become all the rage and people came in droves to buy them. Now, a decent mountain bike at that time was anything from 250 pounds and upwards, but this chain store had its own brand, and frankly speaking they were a hunk of shit on wheels....but considerably cheaper (110 - 220).

Not a week would go by that someone didn't bring it back in order for me to repair the bike they had bought only a week or so ago. Most asked for a refund. In any case, customers would then come in and ask me for honest advice, and I would tell them honestly, don't buy it, save up a bit and buy the other one. Each customer was delighted that I had told them the truth....the truth isn't common in sales.

My boss on the other hand wasn't delighted when he saw sales declining. I didn't lose my job, as he didn't quite know why sales declined. But after I left that job I made a mental note never to get involved in sales in any form again. And I never have.

It just doesn't suit some people. Sorry about your bad news, and I wish you luck finding a better job that can at least make you happier.

people with a spiritual path arent cut out for corporate or contracted jobs.

Sadly, no other jobs are generally available in america.

That's a cop out ... really. How on earth did you come to that conclusion?

The trick is to marry your spiritual ethics with an effective line of business. For example I am a commissioned based sales person for a multi-million dollar company that markets a holistic sleep system. I love it!

The corporate world of sales is exhilarating and sharpens your sword like nothing else. It forces you to shed all the superfluous aspects of yourself that interferes with your ability to relate to people properly. And that's the secret to sales ... the ability to sincerely relate with people on a heart level. If your product or service truly helps people (and if it doesn't then go find a product/service that does), then it's all about empowering your customer, helping them significantly improve their situation.

How fulfilling it is in my line of business to have past customers stop me in the street, shake me by the hand and sincerely thank me for how I have helped them improve the quality of their life. I had one lady, who suffered from weekly migraines for 50 years, whose suffering stopped within a month with my products. She came back to one of my seminars and voluntarily stood up in front of everyone and tearfully told her story of how her life had turned around.

One of the most spiritually blessed moments of my life I can tell you.

So stop your sniveling about there being no "spiritual jobs in America", get off your backside and get creative and if you can't find one then make one ... seriously.

STFU. you live in australia.

THAT is the most rational response, but i digress.

America is so far in the shitter that most people are too scared to spend money on anything but their debts, which are, ironically, thanks to corporate entities.

The "solution" as most americans understand it is to get a corporate job and climb the corporate ladder, which is damn near impossible, especially with as much monopoly as corporate entities have, thus reducing the availability of career paths.

This is a fact of the matter which results in "odd jobs" being available not from the common man but the middle class and above, who, also, cant afford to hire all the bums in the street to pain their house.

But the bums, we'd be more than willing to do a job if we could get food and drink, or money.

Some of us fly a sign saying "will work for anything" and dont even get work.

It's not just a generalization, it's a pandemic.

P.S. sales are never sincere connections. at the end of the day, you'll never meet that person (again) and that "sincerity" was merely for the sales.

What people dont seem to realize is that today is the day of Crazy Horse's prophecy, but it has yet to come completely true until this disenfranchised, neglected, abused, and "unrelatable" generation receives the Love and compassion it needs to grow up.

The last 3 or 4 generations in america have destroyed it's decendants' futures.

SO FUCK OFF WITH TEH PAT ADVICE. no offense, but im not going to listen to any more BFS like that.

Get your hands dirty and help out or dont talk to me.

Oh good job guys.....

I did say 'in general' spiritual people..... and I don't disagree that if you have a product you believe in it's very different.

I was trying to give Leon an 'out'.... you know, he's kind of lost his job.

Since when did 'the pit' become moderated stig? I didn't see what s.s.s wrote but I've seen some serious words down here that haven't been moderated before. Was there a change of policy for the pit?

Edit: Oh.... this isn't the pit, the pit has gone solo? So the pit is moderated or not?

Actually my faithful moderating compadres have duly informed me that the Off-Topic is actually unmoderated with it quite clearly being stated as such on the front page (hehehe shows how much I see that page).

I have reversed my actions and humble beg everyone's forgiveness for my lapse.

Well, to be honest, I started very well, but I was not the only one declining in numbers.

I definitely wish there was something else.

I have been looking for jobs at the park/bookstore/non profit and etc.

Nothing!

No response!

After I call them, I get nothing.

I'm trying to find a job in Sales, that has to do with something Spiritual, still looking, however.

Thanks for the recommendation and your story!

Got nothing to do with it. You think we haven't been affected by the whole EC mess? You would be terribly wrong if you did.

THAT is the most rational response, but i digress.

Some of us fly a sign saying "will work for anything" and dont even get work.

It's not just a generalization, it's a pandemic.

I understand things are tough, but here is something that I have found to be true, except in extreme cases, if you really want work you will find work. And if there is no work to be found where you are then either move or make work for yourself.

Where's the entrepreneurial spirit gone these days really?

Have you really done everything in your ability to find work? Really?

Have you really explored every single possible opportunity to get out there and make a dollar? Really?

I bet you haven't.

How 'bout starting your own market stall business. How 'bout growing some veges in your backyard and selling them for some extra cash. How 'bout anything instead of snivelling around here whining about how there's no spiritual jobs to be found.

What utter rot!!!

It's like you are saying, "Yeah I want to work ... but I won't do "those" jobs because they aren't spiritual enough."

It's like that here in Australia. The poor old farmers are desperate to find workers but the Aussies don't want to do the hard yakka required, and so it's only the migrants that will do the work. And then the Aussies sit around whinging about how the migrants are pinching all their work!!!

I've been on the unemployment que before ... I was unskilled and unqualified ... but I made work for myself. I got off my arse and started a magazine business. It failed horribly, but I picked myself up, dusted off the shit and started another business and ran it successfully for 7 years.

I closed that business because I wanted to and guess what? With all that experience I was now a very skilled and very qualified salesman and found the job of my dreams within months.

And let's look at your next ill-thought comment:

P.S. sales are never sincere connections. at the end of the day, you'll never meet that person (again) and that "sincerity" was merely for the sales.

What a load of BS!!!

You are describing 2-bit salespeople who would be better off being pimps.

Here's something about business and sales that you might learn if you ever stop your whining.

80% of all sales in a business are repeat customers. That means the real success of a sales person depends on the sincere relationships they form with their clients. "Real" salespeople live by this motto: I only win when the customer wins. "Real" salespeople think only of how they can help the customer achieve their goals and dreams. And the real success of a salesperson depends on how well they can truly help customers win time after time.

So the super-sales people that you so despise are without a doubt more sincerely caring, hardworking, and selfless then you could ever imagine possible.

So you want a spiritual job? Find a product or service that you believe will truly and completely help people. And then join the companies sales team and learn to be a super-salesman. After all if you truly believe it is the best thing for people aren't you duty bound to help people get involved with it as much as you can?

What people dont seem to realize is that today is the day of Crazy Horse's prophecy, but it has yet to come completely true until this disenfranchised, neglected, abused, and "unrelatable" generation receives the Love and compassion it needs to grow up.

The last 3 or 4 generations in america have destroyed it's decendants' futures.

Oh FFS!!! You don't need "love and compassion to grow up", you need to stop looking for your mama's tit!!!

Seriously! Growing up is about getting in touch with those swingle-dingle things between your legs and taking life in your own hands rather than whining about how you don't have enough love.

Things are tough and hard right now. Too frickin right they are!!! So what are YOU going to do about it?

Does whining about it put food on your table?? Does blaming the corporate world put dollars in your bank account?? Does blaming the last 3 generations help your children through college??

Man up and do something for yourself for goodness sakes!!

SO FUCK OFF WITH TEH PAT ADVICE. no offense, but im not going to listen to any more BFS like that.

Get your hands dirty and help out or dont talk to me.

Hahahaha !!! When my business went bust and I had no work, did I whinge or whine? No because I had a family to think of, so I went out and busted my ass with the migrant workers cutting lettuce and celery for a living from sun-up to sun-down. Is that dirty enough for ya?!!

Even now when I have seen my sales figures head south, I could sit around with the other reps and whinge about the company, but no frikin way!! I'm busting my balls again to push all new initiatives through the company trying to drag us out of this death-spiral.

They say people will never pull their finger out until their back's against the wall and the sword is falling. But I guess for some they welcome the death stroke like a pathetic lover. So what's it going to be for you hey?

Your welcome. I'm sure you'll find something better suited to you Leon, you seem like a bright guy. Half of the challenge is simply finding something that suits you. I've had jobs before that I thought would really suit me, then after getting them found out I was completely wrong. So the search went on.

It does take time for some of us to find a job that suits us. So don't worry, your not the only one.

>.> That'd be funny if my situation were different.

I dont think anyone is going to take this situation seriously, because the feminine energies are not respected what so ever.

Stig has provided a prime example of the problem pertaining to perceptions of the feminine power in his simple phrase ""you need to stop looking for your mama's tit!!!"" which only tells me that he never breast fed, or was deprived thereof...

Man, you need to get your head on straight and realize that americans today are a generation without MEN for fathers, but pussy bitch profiteers and angry women for fathers.

FUCKING RELIZE THE SHIT. stop ignoring it, saying "man up". swear to god that kind of approach should earn death.

You dont like my attitude? come kick my ass. I guarantee that the one of us who is correct and mature in our realizations is the one who will be left standing.
