linking siddhis vhibhuti with yoga taichi ect.?

Recommended Posts

So I have read that doing certain yoga poses alows one to be able to do siddhis. I was wondering if we could compile a list of yoga poses and there correlative siddhis? Yoga is not the only thing we have to work with anyone heard of certain taichi practices that alows oneself to have psychic powers?

Chris Murphy, a practitioner of Bardon's Initiation to Hermetics as well as yoga, has written an article here on some yoga postures that are known for developing siddhis: The Practice of Yoga.

Of course, these require a mastery of the asana, so you're looking at 3+ hours of holding these poses.

I've read some Hindu texts on this, and according to some stories a yogi had to hold a pose for YEARS and would be granted a wish because a deity had to come down and be like, "you haven't moved for years and you're throwing off the balance of the world.... what the hell do I have to give you to make you move?"

Sooooooo..... that seems to be the nature of poses for siddhis.

Yeah, those stories are from the Puranas, Shrimad Bhagavatum, Mahabharata and many others.

Standing on your head and other upside down poses increases psychic powers if you have high and clear prana activity in your blood it opens dormant places in your brain while you are upside down and the blood rushes through your brain.

I agree! :)

And so do......

err, wait a minute....

I mean it sounds good in theory. But I don't know, I've never tried it. I can't stand on my head. Honestly I'm kind of afraid to. I don't know anyone who's done it successfully. I've heard a lot about it..... but I mean I also hear the moon is made of cheese.

Don't know anyone who's successfully done it, so I can't speak to the accuracy of the accounts.

But at least all the accounts line up. Stand on your head for 3+ hours and become psychic.

Why aren't more people doing it...?

Seems to me like if there were any powers connected to it, the porn industry would have found them by now....

Psychic powers can kind of suck if you are really looking to be as selfless as possible in each moment. Other than that, they are good for manipulating people and situations with people.

Also, psychic powers do help you see your own deep seated fears and discomforts with a sometimes horrid level of agility that can be very almost insane.

I'm not really a huge fan... as sometimes I miss the simplicity of not knowing whats on other peoples minds, and what's in other dimensions directly on an experiential beyond mere theory level.
