Recommended Posts

As you all might know my favorite movie of all time is the lion king. Well I searched ebay for a copy of the japanese version and could not find it. I was wondering if one of you guys might have it or know a place to buy it that ships to the unioted states? I am interested in owning it cause i am trying to learn japanese and I heard that watching a movie can help alot.

Thanks

Well, I'd recommend reading a lot along with watching, I started, but then wasn't really bothered to learn the language properly since I'd never really need it.

I gathered some sources I'll share with you:

My favorite, best website I found, its verbs section was great! I never went all the way through, but I imagine all its sections are just as good 5* Just plain text, but thats the best way to start making sense of how the language works.

This is great for when you need a kanji you see on a picture and have no way of copy paste to google it or use a translator. Might take a bit of effort to find it, but if you really want to know what it means (the kanji) you can.

The kanji Game, great for helping you learn some kanji as well as test/learn you alphabet skills for hiragana and katakana

Others I have saved, they all offer something here and there guess:

http://www.jp41.com/kanji/

Hope you master the language to the level you desire.

As for the lion king, sorry, can't help. But I'm sure you're aware theres plenty of anime online you can use the same way, even on youtube there are full episodes of some series.

This guy learned Japanese in 18 months having fun. Not by taking classes or courses. He did it by immersion. Listening to and watching everything in Japanese. That, and learning kanji at the same time.

Great story, very motivational as well. Lots of useful advice and links.

I've always wanted to learn Japanese but thought it would be way too difficult. This way sounds like fun.

Mewtwo,

Your best bet would be to go on a pilgrimage to find the elusive lion king in Japanese. It must exist! Probably at the end of some treacherous mountain pass, guarded by tengu.
