I totally agree. Drew your a nice guy but you are seriously taking the piss with the spam. Like I said before I would not be at all surprised if you get paid or some benefit from SFQ for your insistent spamming on the WWW. I recently purchased the small universe CD not because of you but after listening to a radio interview with Chunyi Lin. If anything you put me off SFQ.

 

Santi and Susan promote their system, that is not spam. You intentionally put links as you know that's what google like. You are abusing this websites google rating and that is just not on. Bottom line is if the site owner/moderator ask you to do something then it's time to show respect. I was recently told off and I deserved it. Even Biff has to obey the rules.

Well one difference is that Santiago and Susan are not systematically replying to every new member in the lobby suggesting that they visit the KAP web site, as Drew is doing with Spring Forest. If that was the case, then yes, that would be spam also. Your response here seems to based on emotion and not logic.

 

Personally, I often find Drew's posts in the forum to be interesting, although there is a certain amount of repetition in them. I hope he does not get banned, but I agree that he should not be spamming new people in the lobby.

 

My response on Kap is because he is very activly marketing it.so much that it makes my sick.And I think he promises to much.I made a thread asked how many had activated kundalini with Kap.And nobody said they have.The thread was recently and many people have done kap for a long time now.And then shakhtimama comes and help marketing both santiago and Kap.to much for my taste

When I was really young I remember when the Hari Krishna group used to haunt the terminals of airports begging for money. I had one earnest young woman, when I opened up my little purse to show her my one moldy green penny, she snatched it out and ran away but not before she placed the huge hard bound "bible" of their group in my chubby little hands.

 

Standing in the lobby and pamphleteering is odd be in it cyber space or on the street corner handing out propaganda for evangelizing or going door to door like a Jehovah's witness. It all smacks of a little desperation and need for approval of the big guy in the sky or one's guru IMO.

 

It's not like he is asking us to buy Viagra or genuine Gold rolex watches. He is pimping for his guru. He's a missionary for SFQ. Personally, I find it annoying because I used to be a fundamental Christian and I did plenty of the witnessing for Jesus act so like a reformed smoker I have a distaste for that kind of behavior.

 

I suppose we could call what he is doing SPAM but I think his heart is in the right place. He really thinks he is doing the right thing because he is a "true believer". So be gentle with Drew whatever you decide. He means well.

Go back and read the initial warning I made to Drew.

 

I actually suggested that he put SFQ in his signature (which he subsequently has). It's fine for people to promote their stuff, or other people's stuff. It just has to be somewhere in the vicinity of balanced and natural. Promoting to every person who shows up in the lobby, regardless of the content of their 'hello' intro, as soon as they show up... that's just too much is all. It's a clear spam strategy.

 

Many people link to systems, methods, etc, in the course of conversation. That's most often cool, natural, appreciated. Part of TTBs experience. Some threads are dedicated to a method or school. Some people are only interested in a particular method and so stick to those threads. Some people occasionally link to stuff in lobby posts. All good.

 

This just had a quality of "going to excess" that was glaring. And, if we let it go it would set a precedent that anyone could spam in the lobby all they want. Not a good precedent.

What you deem disrespect is your problem. I merely point out the flaws in your style of writing. Non-sequiturs are the most obvious. How can I debate you if you continually make sweeping generalizations and irrational statements. If you don't understand what I am talking about, read up on fallacious arguments.

 

In my first philosophy class, I attempted to defend untenable arguments and my first paper came back with a lot of red marks. I learned very quickly to change the way I argued a case in point.

Good Lord, YOU shouldn't be talking of stuff like pimping of all the people! You sound like those early Buddhists in China who jumped on the serene Taoists, preached non-stop about emptiness, what it is and what it is not and when got in response but a sympathetic smile, accused them of ignorance, and continued to preach and utter sutras not taking a moment to compare their own state with the quiet Taoist.

I think anyone using this site to over advertise their 'system' is wrong. But then my view does not count. And there is the other point, it's the rules of the site that count. And if a mod asks you to do something we should have the respect to listen as we are all visitors. It's not Drew. Mak Tin Si did the same thing and in the same way showed little respect when he was asked to tone it down. If Drews true intention was honest then like I said what does this mean;

good grief....you call that an attack... LOL...i said I did the exact same thing that's when I was a fundamental Christian and that's why it annoyed me. Reread what I wrote. I just offered that I have been where he is so please be gentle with him. I have done evangelizing and missionary work and I know what can motivate that kind of behavior. I also knew it would get me thrown out of place or like Drew says, banned. But you know what? when you are on a mission you don't care. It is actually a badge of honor for us missionaries to get thrown out of place for our beliefs. We BRAG about it to each other as proof of our commitment to the cause and or leader.

 

We fundies recognize each other whether we are recovering fundies or not.
