This is just a loose thought,

but I think for many people nocturnal emissions is a difficult stumbling block, because of our lack of awareness during the dream states. I think that a good practice is to first, start a dream journal, and record your dreams every morning first thing. Then when you have obtained the ability to always recall your dreams (shouldn't take longer than a few weeks) then you can move on to building awareness inside the dream state. Cultivate a habit of questioning yourself about whether you are in a dream or not during your waking life and once you have that as a natural habit, you can carry it over into the dream states. That way, you can control your sexual arousal while you sleep. Once you have this mastered, nocturnal emissions should be less of a difficulty. You can also record your successes and keep track of your dreams, which is rewarding in and of itself.

Then when you make that strong determination to retain your vital fluid for the hundred day period, you will already have the tools in place to combat it in sleeping, as well as in the waking states.

haha, I'm in as well.

Does this mean no ejaculation for 100 days or the complete abstinence of penile stimulation and mental masturbation as well?

Sometimes, after having spent a day attempting to draw the Jing upwards, I can notice a sweet scent that I have never noticed before. It's a musky scent, how you would expect a masculine man to smell. It is a good scent. And I think that it is coming from my genital region.

Is this part of transmuting? Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just a sign that my energies are becoming more pure?

Or am I just imagining things

Hey man what's the technique for drawing the jing upwards?

Do you draw it up the control channel or the functional channel? Is there a specific method you choose?

regards

The goal is to create electromagnetic fields or QI -- if you play with your willy you're creating generative fluid -- juice -- it's the OPPOSITE of your goal.

So keep focusing on the OPPOSITE of your goal and see how far you get! haha.

I've heard about the "100" days of retention in most teachings.

Is this to help generate more Chi faster in the LDT and open the MCO?

How does physical ejaculation effect energy levels while opening the orbit and after the orbit has been opened?

- Will your progress decrease significantly if you physically release?

To what point does one have to get in regular cultivation where having a normal sex life does not reduce efforts?

Can one have a normal 21-century-girlfriend-want's-to-sex-ur-brains-out-every-day life and still manage to attain results such as opening the MCO and more advanced alchemy?

I am going on two weeks now and have no problem, i never really have, but it makes me wonder. I like sex and well, ejaculating for most normally functional guys is a normal thing.

I haven't reached the point where i can quantifiably sense how much energy is in me, that i can determine how much Qi i lose during ejaculation. I would really appreciate some insight from the more experienced of us.

Thank you ^_^

What do you want to achieve? In my opinion, Daoist alchemy is a waste of time. There are much more direct and effective practices. Alchemy presupposes a very intricate worldview. Instead of loosing up and questioning your current beliefs, you'll be burdening your mind with more and new beliefs about reality, if you want to do Daoist alchemy.

Now, the way mind works, any prolonged practice will be successful, even if you engage in all kinds of useless activity.

For example, let's say you want to make your body light. If that's your goal, then as long as you are sincere and constant in your application, what you do, doesn't matter. Even if what you do is stupid or unnecessary. This includes Daoist alchemy. What makes you light in the end is not so much the process of alchemy but really your intent and your resolve to be light. If you understand this, then the process of alchemy is a distraction from the real power that does all the real work.

I wouldn't say that all energy work is useless, but if you want to transmute one substance into another, you must start with a belief that there is substance of some kind to begin with. If you don't believe in substance, then what are you transmuting??? So all alchemists invariably believe in substance. But this very belief in substance is also what limits the natural power of mind.

An alternative approach to transmuting substance is to undermine or uproot the very belief in substance. If you no longer believe that substance exists, you find yourself with nothing to transmute, and that's the end of alchemy.

So when you asks about the specifics of alchemy, first of all, there are various incompatible views about it. Some think there is physical alchemy. Others think it's a spiritual process that nonetheless transmutes physical substance. Others think that alchemy doesn't transmute anything and is purely spiritual, but in that case, you have to wonder if it's still alchemy or just another fancy word for feeling modification? So not only do you get loaded up with all kinds of cultural baggage that's specific only to Chinese culture and is absent from other mystical cultures, but even inside China there is no unanimous consent on what exactly is alchemy. Some Chinese alchemists have spent all their time to develop a pill. Others haven't bothered with the pill. Some are rumored to have died from taking their pill. Others are rumored to have taken flight, straight into the sky, as immortals. So keep in mind, this is the tradition you seek answers from, a tradition that is unstable and is uncertain and is localized in China.

This is why I am not an alchemist and advise anyone who would listen to avoid alchemy. This doesn't mean there is no such thing as a magical transformation or real power. There is. But alchemy is not a good way to discover it, in my opinion.

So for example last night I ate some food late and needed to digest so I didn't sit in full-lotus enough. Then I had too many blankets on so I was hot. Then I woke up with my "alchemical pill" having been deconverted to sex fluid. This was caused by someone around me having their electromagnetic focus in their lower chakra and thereby trying to "suck me off" -- to deconvert my chi back down to their mental focus on sex fluid.

Since I've trained a lot -- without thinking I immediately flexed by PC muscle -- the same muscle used to stop pissing in mid-flight. Then I went into full-lotus and stayed in full-lotus until the sex fluid had been converted back into chi -- burned or ionized. Then I went back to sleep. No problem! haha. No fluid loss.

It's not a "problem". You should ejaculate at least once a month. A younger man shouldn't go more than two weeks without ejaculating, I don't care how well you convert your well, whatever it is you do. Not healthy, not right. Unless you are actually sick or I guess going through the initial 100 days. I'll compromise on that.

Once it's burned off it's gone. No need when there is none!

Yea you know I'm unsure of Drew. He always seems like... in his own world, many times bypassing questions with answers of the same type which only serve to reinforce the main arguments or theories of his, and not really answer the questions.

At laest from my experience. And then uses fancy type words and stuff which have no real scientific basis or foundation, and is just about presentation.

Sometimes the links and scientific papers he presents have nothing even to do with what he's talking about.

Sometimes the answers he gives have nothing to do with the question at hand.

It's possible that drew has real experience... though perhaps a bit in his own world I guess.. maybe unable to transmit his knowledge with clarity and in a plain English, down to earth way.

is English your first language Drew?

ah... I had to laugh when I saw the title of the article "You Can't Fake a Full Lotus!" as you're always referring to it, and Chunyi Lin's Spring Forest qigong stuff.

I personally think any kind of leg crossing sitting position is imbalanced. One leg over the other can cause the hips to become unbalanced, don't you think?

Chunyi Lin spent 49 days in full-lotus non-stop taking no water, no sleep and no food, in qingcheng cave.

Witch my sister and niece are visiting along with my brother-in-law so I don't have to eat much food! haha. They flew in from Boston a couple days ago -- right before the snow storm hit I guess.

Well, I did my best. Anything happen?
