A new model of solar dynamics

Recommended Posts

Very interesting, not sure how "new" this theory is (certainly has been other historical suggestions of such) but its quite interesting - less "ball of gas" and more a blend of solid/liquid/gas/plasma, with a solid surface below the photosphere...

From SOHO images the sun using a 195 angstrom filter that are sensitive to iron FE XII emissions, there appears to be a surface that rotates consistently:

We dunno shit 'bout nothin'!

Some time in the future an enlightened gal might say the sun is made of candy, and people will say "That's so incredibly stupid!" and she will say "Oh, like YOUR theories are any better!". :D
