  1. Title REQUIRED

Greetings fellow Daoists unsure how I ended up here, but it looks interesting. Well, I can paint the bigger picture, if not the direct path. I developed an interest over the past years for Qigong, which led me to Shaolin, from where I came to Taoism and remembered a book I read once, the Tao of Pooh, which is not nearly as readable as I remember, but I remember it did a thing for me for a while a while back before it faded somewhat. After not reading that book again, I got some versions of TaoTeChing, listened a bit to Alan Wats, who brings it nicely I think, and found another book by Eva Wong, Taoism, an Essential Guide, leading me to getting too many other books, and I suppose following the subsequent rabbit hole I must have ended up here. So there, I do roughly know the path that led me here! Some interests, I am looking for more information on qi circulation methods, different methods and applications, qi gong in general, I ended up at internal alchemy, but I am still figuring that out. But if anyone has any suggestions, they would be much appreciated. Always had the idea that someday I would like to retreat to the mountain for a while to cultivate myself full time, unimpeded by life as it tends to be, but I still have not gotten to it. If anyone has knowledge or experience, please do share. I am at the time in between jobs and projects so it could be a good time to get going. I play go, if anyone is interested, please add me on ogs: https://online-go.com/player/753080/ I live in Belgium, in case anyone wants a live game! I like reading, just learning things or fiction. Although it goes from a bit compulsive to a debilitating fiction addiction and then overflows into other media, it is partly under control for now. But it leads me to the next bit. Where I try to sell you this web novel, Cultivation Chat Group (hence username), it is hilarious and amazing, and for a moment when I found the forum I thought: "Well, you did it now, rabbithauled yourself into schizophrenia." If any of you have suggestions how to jumpstart my cultivation at the rather later than ideal age of 36, be it medicinal recipes, physical or internal techniques, please advise! There you go, a short introduction. I will be going through the forum to dig for more. In the meanwhile, thanks for having me!

  6. "Out with the old", its echo glistening unlike a fossil, shivering without as much a tussle. "They say the night sky speaks, whispers of change; un-change, no change." "If Poseidon dies what will rise?" Look to the tide, is it Purple Inside?

  9. @Welcomer, There is not a single word, that you said there, that I disagree with. But, all of sudden I am seeing all of these closed threads. It is like--I have said all that needs to be said -- so there! I agree that it makes things simpler but it is limiting to all of us, when it is not necessary. I can see it when things are getting negative but, to assume that any response is unnecessary in any new thread seems a little arrogant me.
  10. It would follow that the highest form of the calligraphy craft would be a zero point. The Emerald Whale flows to the dark motionless. Pressure Mounts, Spring steams the brew, out peaks the roots bearing the golden fruit.
  11. Greetings

Greetings to all, I am a novice always looking to learn more. I started on this path accidentally as a teen when I first felt energy that i could move through my body, though I had no clue what it was. So I stumbled and fumbled on my own for more than a decade as I grew up in a restrictive religious environment that treated such things as evil. It has only been in the last few years that I learned of more traditional cultivation practices. I'm poor at asking for advice and have only my own clumsy experiences with little traditional knowledge to share. So I look forward to learning more from those who wish to share and will share my own experiences with any who wish to know. Thank you in advance for your kindness.

  15. My newcomer post

Namaste friends, I have had this site bookmarked for a couple years and come here sometimes to read, tho recently had the urge to be more involved, so I made my account and am making this post now in the Newcomer section. What got me into Taoism was my instructor for Yellow Dragon Kung fu, he recommended some books on Taoist philosophy, and from there I had read more books and resonated with their content. Some of the books I like are the following: The Chronicles of Tao 365 Tao Fourth Uncle in the Mountain Bones of the Master Enter Mo Pai etc. Some of these books may not fall into the strict genre of Taoism (tho technically we can say everything falls into Taoism...) I got similar stories and vibes from all of these books, however. I look forward to discussing these subjects with all of you! Eternal Love & Light, Arya

  20. Hello Everyone I'm a New Student

I am an experienced meditator, having done so for about 10 years now daily, I am entering a new phase in my life where I want to practice celibacy, that has lead me to this site, I'm still fairly young (late 20s) but I really want to have my life take on new meaning and depth/heights. Please take a moment to stop here and say hello, drop some of your favorite all time threads in here, and private message me if you wish to be my tutor/mentor. I am searching the last few years for someone to teach me worldly knowledge, historical, esoteric, tao, religions, science, medicine. I am a passionate learner. I can even possibly compensate you for your time tutoring me, I am hoping this was meant to be. Thanks, 5am

  23. Tao Convert

Hi Y'all, My name is Amy, and I have been studying the Tao for about 3 months. I was drifting aimlessly since leaving Christianity 4 years ago. I did a lot of YouTube with Chakras, Meditating, Astral Planes, etc. One day (as I was playing Star Wars, SWTOR), I decided to look more into Taoism. I have known for some time that "The Force" was based on Tao. I read it all the way through in one sitting the first time. I am currently comparing 2 different translations as I read through again. I live in a very conservative town that it is in a very conservative state. It is probably 3 hours to the nearest town that might have a Tao temple. So, I started looking for an online community - and here I am. Thanks!
  24. new or returning

My name is Jolanda, I think I was here before . Studying Daoism: learning from texts, reading books and scriptures, teaching and doing Tai Chi and Qigong, recitation, meditation, zhan zhuang, circle walk, letting go, returning ... In this moment my Daoist name is Xìn Rù, disciple of Liu De MIng. Living in the Netherlands, wanting to manifest a Dutch Daoist Center in the future, but then again, letting go of desires: just starting with welcoming people to learn, read, recitate and meditate with me, for recognizing the Dao, in a very simple Way ... through email, skype or facebook. Maybe starting a community - group on facebook, if there is interest.
