I had lots of problems with my sinuses. I was able to breath through my nose only during physical exercises. Meditation was very frustrating. Few years ago I had a sinus operation. I had a bit of cartilage and mucous membrane removed. Best decision I ever made. I should have done it much sooner. General wellbeing is so much better. I still have to do jala neti and take nasonex every day because I'm allergic to dust and mucous membrane would get enlarged again. Milk used to clogg my nose completely before. Like I had cold. Now not anymore. I recommend you to check with doctor if it is a physical problem. Then only operation can help.

As you are mentioning colds I'll share what works for me and I didn't catch cold while everyone in my house caught it. I do jala neti every morning (mainly because of dust allergy). It keeps my sinuses clean. I also take vitamin d3 10.000 IU almost every day and little bit of zinc. Stress has very bad effect on immune system so minimizing it is important. Meditation is great for that.

That's great to hear. So you work with kundalini and FP helps with that?

Not Zen meditation but a blend of Reichian therapy and tantra. I'll write a short summary of a summary someone else wrote. Our brain is made of 3 brains. ANS (automatic nervous system) also called reptilian brain. Then we have emotional brain and frontal lobe. The connections go from ANS to emotional brain and frontal lobe. But almost no connections go from frontal lobe ("you") to ANS. This means most if not all your actions and thoughts are simply reactions of the first two brains. You are at the mercy of your habitual neuron-physical reactions that you have developed since you were young and reacted (re-acted) all your life. Once a pathway was established however haphazardly, it was fired again and again making it permanent. And this process is very basic and usually centered around pain. How it's done? By tensing and holding different muscle groups while relaxing the rest of the body, you are breaking the neuro-physical connections in the brain associated with whatever area you're working on. You're also training your body to feel relaxation and engaging the part of your brain that feel pleasure. After that you build connections back, only beneficial this time. How is undoing like tantra? We bring up a little bit of the kundalini energy through the breath as we do the work. By tensing an area and bringing up a little kundalini and we are gently loosing the psycho/mental/physical tension of that area. end of summary So it's not just a simple meditation, this is why I'm asking.

I will start soon with Undoing Yourself from Christopher Hyatt. Would FP interfere with it? edit: Radical Undoing not Undoing Yourself.

Hm... I have thought you do the breathing sequence only once for BTB.
  7. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

I can answer this one. That's right. Standing MGM is the only meditation with eyes open. http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?/topic/12639-flying-phoenix-chi-kung/page__view__findpost__p__180930

Hello Sifu Terry I have similar question as AStralogic only regarding Wind Through the Treetops. Do I need to do breathing sequence before every repetition or not? Or is Wind Above Clouds the only meditation that you have to do that? Thank you.
  9. Hi Malganis, Thanks for your post on the FP Qigong thread.I have 2 favors to ask:would you allow me to possibly use your postings in a Q&A section of my forthcoming book on the Flying Phoenix Qigong system? Also, if you are fan of the FPQ system, and have an account on amazon.com,I would greatly appreciate any critique, review of the CKFH DVD's on the product pages as they lost old page...

Thank you very much for your detailed answer. I will add the remaining two standing meditations to my practice.

Hello Terry, i'm grateful for all the information you have provided in this thread. And for the DVDs of course. They are great. I have been doing the exercises from Vol I and Vol II for 2 months now progressing the way you described on your webpage. I have been doing MGM, BTB, MHPearl and exercises 1,2,3 from Vol 2 for a month. I feel much more relaxed and empty like- not feeling the body. My tai chi has a totally different feel to it now. Way better I have read the whole thread a while back but i don't remember anyone asking these questions. I apologize if you already answered them. How important is it to put right leg over the left leg in sitting meditations? Can i put left leg over right? I plan on doing those six exercises described above for another month and then starting the rest of meditations on Vol 1 and 2. But there are 2 exercises left on Vol 1 not three. So when i get to three standing and sitting mediations should i add one standing meditation from the Vol 5 or do the one from vol 1 i have already done? Or just do two standing and three sitting meditations for 6 weeks? After i have went through all the meditations in Vol 1 and Vol 2 then i should pick just one exercises from each Vol and do it for 6 months? Do i need to do each exercise for 6 months? Can i also start with Vol 3 in that time or should i wait? Can i do more than one exercise during those 6 months or is it meant that one to be longer like 30 min? Thanks. EDIT: Another question about posture in Bending The Bows. When you lower your legs do you always keep your pelvis tucked in?
