  2. Bums I am missing

It’s good to see you around when you make your occasional visits. I think, I noticed a change with you when you changed your name. Me and Blasto may have butted heads, however, me and Encephalon never did. And the site had a different vibe back in the day…. I, myself, made many questionable posts, as have many others. I offer my apologies to you for posts I made that may have taken some joy out of the TDB experience away from you. I have always read what you post and appreciate your perspective. I’d like very much to read new posts from you, I have wondered about you; how you’re getting along these days, your practices, thoughts in general, or whatever.

  4. Everyone post some favorite quotes!

  5. Mo Pai 2022

There are numerous styles/systems/schools that are "good" & ""real" seems like after months of lurking here you would've stumbled onto some of those. now, as a signed in member, you have access to the Personal Practice Section. maybe, start perusing there, and see if anything resonates with you
  6. Happy to be Here

Hi Zero, you will be officially welcomed soon looks like you are finding your way along the path and are acquainted with some good folks. I do want to mention that sometimes less is more and trying to take on too many new schools at once might not lead to the best results. TDB itself does not make recommendations regarding specific schools/teachers/styles. Although many individual members will. I am sure that Terry, Rudi, and Earl Grey could keep you busy for years/decades to come. And while i do not specifically recommend anyone in particular, I will say I certainly have nothing negative or warnings to say about any of them. Enjoy your time here and best of luck along the way

  11. Do What Thou Wilt

Nungali. I just wanted to take this moment to express my gratitude to you for your continued contributions to this forum; keeping the discussions on the way engaged, insightful, quirky.
  12. Do What Thou Wilt

doing the right thing feels good and is rewarded, though, doing the right thing isn't seeking reward, its the doing the right thing for its sake alone. and is a reward of its own, and finds synchronicity, harmony in Dao and it is Good!
  13. Do What Thou Wilt

o3b, you do not indulge in any form of sorcery ? some are more subtle than others. my bagua play is absolutely sorcery, i dont consider it demonic, except in a way that expels demons, the ones within us. and all of us have them. Then there is an idea that yinyang is also represented by both wolves. some choose to feed both maintaining a balance. then there are those who never tame their demons and prefer to keep them on a leash.
  14. How did they reach the i-ching images?

I get it that purists would prefer the yarrow stalks or numerology method; the coins work fine too, coins are not a less than method. the I ching expresses with energy in a way that is totally receivable to the sincere seeking counsel. Approaching the I ching with sincerity and an open mind, is more meaningful, felt, than the method chosen IMO and i was told, there are three types of lies: Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics
  15. disrspecting the i ching ?

true, I didn’t suggest otherwise. my content was on respect and lack of.
  16. disrspecting the i ching ?

I think the I Ching absolutely notices ( noticing is caring or at least we could think sharing is caring and the I Ching is generous sharing something you really don’t find elsewhere ) I haven’t sought counsel from Divine in a long time. Too long. I’ve relied on my Wu which I’ve been consciously (and unconsciously) developing the past dozen years. Really, been developing it all my life but the last twelve plus years using Daoist ways to work with. Asking something again one has already asked is in bad form, bad faith, the way of the inferior. the superior or virtuous will respectfully take care in the interaction/communication with the Divine. And the I Ching itself says it is for the superior’s not the inferior’s benefit. to add// the I Ching is a guidebook for accumulating merit. I will suggest that the superior or virtuous is collecting merit far more than the disrespectful does.
  17. Seeking personal power - Good or bad?

fair question. There are many ways to phrase the answer. One way to say it is to be perfectly aligned// in harmony with Dao
  18. disrspecting the i ching ?

I agree and why would anyone choose to do that?
  19. Seeking personal power - Good or bad?

Some “powers” are illusions, some are traps; all types of things, substantial and insubstantial are labeled as “power” seeking these types of so called power are at best a waste of time and can prove harmful. Seeking True Power, trying to abide with True Power is a worthy pursuit. The best, actually.
  20. taoism and sufism

Rumi makes numerous appearances here on TDB. I have been to Konya, waaay back in da day
  21. A few personalities

At best, deception of any find is a waste of time. As far as self deception, who would one be trying to fool? Delusion, is a different thing. in case no one has told you today, You Are Good Enough there are countless qi gongs, I suggest starting with simple medical/health qi gong it’s the only way forward
