  2. What happens if you die?

It sounds like you want to know if,when you die,you retain your individual identity. To be individual there must be other that defines and distinguishes;constructs(noun). From what I (alas, individual again) understand to be immortal is to be one with no-thingness (from my perspective and exposure-- ein sof) and not individual. Shalom Shabbat, Bob

  5. Kunlun, Max, Beliefs

Why would you equate driving a truck with breaking into someone's home and prefer to be deployed? I drive a truck and do -not- break into homes. I find the hours on the road allow me plenty of time to ponder, seek, dwell, write, reflect, think or just sit. I... enjoy the scenery(cubicle with a view).

Thanks for the link. Glad you like the avatar;it is by Storm Thorgerson for Pink Floyd album cover. He also did the Prism on "Dark Side of the Moon" and the light bulb suit on another album. Thanks; I will look for that one.
  8. How do vegetarians who have type 1 diabetes and are insulin dependent cope since,as afar as I know,-most- insulin is still taken from animals; mostly cows and pigs? Insulin from pigs is the closest to human's. By the way pigs sweat through pores which the article did not mention. Recombinant DNA technology has made possible synthetic human insulin but I don't think it's use is wide spread.
  9. To everybody

    Peace
  10. Normals Just Don't Care...

We all do what you started this thread with. Just to illustrate look at your own posts when someone mentions faith;you come down hard(not attacking you-just trying to make a point). A(human's) first responce is defence of his/her territory(perception of self ) Each drinks when thirsty. I do empathize. Most of what i hear on the CB all day is adolescent gibbrish from "men" my age and older.

  14. I guess what I wondering is, isn't there some-thing/action/interaction we should be doing with this growing perception of reality in the here and now to make the here and now a little more like the reality we are growing aware of. Shouldn't the cycle of perception, thought, action, consequence be toward the good if humans are becoming aware? Shouldn't our interaction with our fellow human beings be more and more thoughtful, kind, compassionate, understanding and...loving? I don't see much of it on the news. Sorry, I guess I am just venting. I understand and feel what has been said in these posts and I relish the communication/community/communing on this site. Thanks ALL,Shalom,Bob
  15. Thanks ALL. From the "seeing" and "knowing" does the "doing" then come, as Rookie mentioned on page one? I can decide to build a chair ,then think about how I want it to be;see it in my being, then put the plans on paper, then gather my tools and the materials, but if I don't complete the process with an action then the chair I have spent energy on is not real. Until I put it together I had better not try to sit on it or the reality I would unite with would be my butt greeting the floor. Am I missing something?
  16. Tracing religion back to its source?

as a place to start i would like to suggest searching, "religions of mesopotamia"
  17. I am reminded of; "the joy is in the journey". And I too have wondered how the self ,of its self ,can deny the self ecxept for brief glimpses of the journeys end. How can one who seeks unity with "no-thing ness" unite with it by trying to leave part of it behind? "if a tree falls...and no one hears it;does it make a sound ; is human kind truly the center, the defining quality of reality? I don't think so. If so then what meaning are we(humans) seeking? Isn't our "job" to seek virtuously ; to tread lightly our path of life leaving behind,as much as possible only good.
  18. You are great!

Sweeet!! Should be shown in theatres nation-wide and required viewing in high school!!! Thanks Smile!!!
  19. Spiritual cultivation

I think I understand what you are saying. I have experienced/felt it ,although fleetingly. There have been times in my life I have felt a crisp clarity and rich rightness about who I am and how things...fit. An early occurance was in junior high school. I was walking to class with a friend. I noticed that he had his combination lock with him. Suddenly the words."I can open that" came out of my mouth. He looked at me and said "no way man". I said, "give it to me and I will show you." he handed it to me and I instantly turned the dial and it opened. I had no idea how i did it and couldnt do it again to save my life but for that instant "I" "felt" "right" "clear" felt that "I" "knew" and understood who "I" am and where "I" fit and where "all" fits. There have been a few instances since and some...(achievement?) in meditation but very few absolutely clear, full, real, moments. I think you are saying that this "clarity" can be reached through proper , conscious training and an "openness" from understanding how "holding back" the self/ego can be. Thanks,Shalom,Bob
