chapter 1: you should circulate the "light" until it crystalises.
This does not mean directly the microcosmig orbit, this means to move the energy from organ to organ corrensponding the 5-elements. In my Jung's translation there is WRITTEN, that you need to know the right method. What would you do if you don't know the method? How would you try to cather the chi, refine it to xiantian chi, how to fix the leaks and so on. If someone has an idea please stand up ;-)
you could just focus on on your upper dantian for 100 days and maybe get the illusion that you can see the light. But seeing the light is low-level and not so important... so it's written in the book :-)

Oh, that's just my interpretation of the text. It's the "reverse-interpretation" from knowing the methods and not fully understanding the text. So don't take it as a written fact.

My master told me on my first retreat to study that book as homework. I'm reading two german translations and have some background information (like Ken) what this text is talking about. Withoud the right methods you will never understand the book nor get any far in cultivation with only the informations out of this book.
And yes, chapter 4 is about the "Channel-Small Heavenly Orbit".

Dynamic tension combined with breathe retention is the real key here (know your limits). Follow this simple analogy & you will gain superhuman strength and open most major channels. In a nutshell this is the essence of level 2a,2b mopai.

imho, don`t try that without instruction and suppervising of a master. it could be very dangerous if you have a heart desease, high blood-pressure ... I looked once at my blood-pressure doing pranajama-breathing (8 heartbeats in, 24 hold, 16 out) and my blood-pressure rised into a unhealthy range. Combining such breathing with "Dynamic tension" would increase it much more...

just sit and do deep abdominal breathing. The capacity of your lower dantien is BIG. I don't think you gather so much chi in standing/moving exercises that it exeeds the capacity of your lower dantien. It is huge! Just learn to store your energy in the lower area (it should not rise higher that to the mid dantien).

About the microcosmic orbit (ren & du): At the time you have that amound of Houtian chi that it begins to transform to Xiantian chi the Small Heavenly Orbit will open. But untill then you should focus on your lower dantien.

MPWay is absolutely right: Don't try to gather chi in a building with synthetic/man-made ground and walls. Search for a nice place outdoor.

Nobody said that :-) I just said that we had to sit still for more than one hour on the 3. day of our first seminar. And it would be better being able to sit in full lotus than just cross-legged.

yes... first the hips then the knees and last the feeds. But everyday you can stay a little longer. 3 month ago I coudn't even sit for 45 minutes cross-legged, but everyday I could stay a little longer. No pain no gain :-P

Cool. I was just re reading the Kunlun book and that part about not mixing other systems or you could get energy sickness. It would be interesting to clear up once and for all exactly what you could or couldn't mix with Kunlun. So I guess Dragon Gate Taoism get's a thumbs up then?Â
nice, I'm also doing Long Men-Pai Qi-Gong together with Kunlun Level 1 ... AND I'm doing Pammachon. And I have no energy sickness - seems to work together
