  1. Basic, in English, sounds like something to "progress" from - it isn't. Fundamentals are your foundation and always benefits from practice.

What you are taught, practice and enjoy is orders of magnitude more valuable than a theoretical "best practice"

It seems that almost everyone, when talking about teachers, mentions they don't talk much :)

I have warned you recently regarding you language.

You have been warned and suspended several times over the years by administrators and moderators.

And yet you choose not to treat other members with respect and post personal attacks.

  3. I strongly agree with your post dawei

    ESPICIALLY this.

    2. Threads should not get Pitted.... members should be :D And the Pit has become too PC an idea now... it is beyond debate club to being a fight club excuse. IMO, there is rarely a reason to Pit a thread but many reasons to Pit posts and members...

The pit is only on TTB because Sean doesnt want posts deleted.

So this was a place to put content that is simply unwanted on TTB.

Posts and threads are now routinely moved into the pit yet members continue to derail threads leaving someone else to do the clean up work.

So the idea may be that we ask and expect members to simply respect the OP

Well we do want people to :-

Treat other members with respect. No personal attacks.

Its just that some people seem to ignore the 1st part a lot more often than the 2nd part

    :(

  4. My only beef with this "solution" is that it addresses a problem which never existed in the first place.

And yet if you look at your posts in this thread - Your opinion was clear the 1st time you posted.

But, if you stay true to form, you will continue to reinterate your opinion every time someone posts.

  5. So A asks mods to remove the second person's posts from the thread. Is B then blocked from the thread or otherwise disciplined if they continue to post negatively in the thread? (By negatively here, I just mean adversely to A's intention in starting the thread, which maybe we could name something like counter-posting)

Contemplating this - one person controlling a thread is a bit different from the virtual round the clock coverage of moderators and stewards  so its certainly possible that the thread creator could come back after a few days away to pages and pages of posts that they didnt want in their thread.

So if someone was already asked not to keep posting - but rather than respecting that request they ignored it - what should be done?

  6. "Half of all clinical trials

    have never been published.

    This is a scandal"

In the 90's my statistics lecturer called it the filling cabinet problem.

Actually it can't have been my stats lecturer because I failed that class. Still with the girl I spent my time studying.

I get a lot of complements on being so happy. But it's not actually that IME.

People can tell when your energy is strong. That can come as being happy or powerfull or emotional - they are just the surface.

    I found

Happy people and non - conformists

    thought provoking

    :)

  7. Subtle awareness of the truth of the universe should not be regarded as an achievement. To think in terms of achieving it is to place it outside your own nature. This is erroneous and misleading. Your nature and the integral nature of the universe are one and the same: indescribable, but eternally present. Simply open yourself to this.

The prince addressed the master once again. “Venerable Teacher, according to the Universal Way, when one attains subtle universal awareness he should not label it an achievement. Is that correct?”

The master kindly answered, “Yes, this is very true, dear prince. I have received nothing from the attainment of unconditional awareness. Awareness of the integral nature of the universe is indescribable; it can not be contained by any word or name. If a person thinks in terms of attaining something, that means he believes there is something to obtain or achieve external to his own nature. It means that he fails to realize that his own true nature is the integral nature of the universe itself.”

  8. *cough* stewards can't move posts *cough*

    QFT

 I'm pretty sure the stewards request via moveT and splitT for posts in a thread to be moved.

Yes BKA does the actual physical moving - mods and admin can move posts too

But the post is effectively moved because of the stewards requesting that they be moved.
