Looking for Advise on a Daily Practise

Recommended Posts

I am fairly new to nei dan (few weeks), but have been into esoteric philosophy for a while. However, for the sake of this topic I'll say I, based on my VERY LIMITED knowledge of qigong practise, seem to have fairly good mid-level abilities perhaps also verging on advanced with some evidence of external qi projection in the form of healing.

http://www.thedaobums.com/topic/43744-first-attempt-at-healing/

I am completely lacking in the basics i.e. I DON'T KNOW SHIT! So I'm looking for some help putting together a daily practise in the hope of building a solid base -- physical body/Jing. My back is never really straight when I breathe into the heat in the LDT so the heat is generally in the false DT and my alignment of the three fields is totally off! Plus I'm not really sure what I ought to be doing when I meditate. I don't have my emotions plugged into any external institutions -- no porn, no shopping, falling for advertising, no TV, no politics, no social media etc and I don't seem to have any problems quieting the mind at all. It seems to turn off like a switch, then I'm able to expand my awareness and feel the subtle energies.

Right now I just breathe into the heat while I'm sitting down or walking outside and it gets hot/warm. Sometimes its just there in the background while my attention isn't on it, sometimes I focus on it and breathe wherever it happens to be and sometimes I don't really feel it. I'm not really doing the orbit. I've done it a couple of times and can feel the energy right around the body, it washes down the chest and then heats up again in the LDT. Then at times when I'm breathing into the heat it will go into the bladder and sometimes into the heart so that's where I put the focus -- always on the warmth. Right now it's actually in the tailbone.

I accidentally initiated the LDT a few weeks ago just by doing some reverse breathing for a few minutes after being celibate for 5 days and then, because I'd read about the MCO I put some of the energy in my head via the spine and the instant I did that I felt its effects at the crown of the head. Then for 6 hours my consciousness got caught up in the LDT so it was just getting hotter and hotter! That's why I joined the forum because I was a bit unsure what I was supposed to do with all that energy. But eventually I managed to get back into my head and things cooled down.

Anyway, I was hoping I could get some help with bulletpoint things to do which I can follow from morning to night. I'm free all day to practise. Thanks!

You have energy. You should then know what to do, my guess is its not that energy then.

I would look for the energy what has its Way. That is purify your desires into a form, it knows where to go because it has that nature.

Thanks, allinone! I'm pretty sure it is that energy :D

But, I'm not here to argue the point. Not to take this thread in the wrong direction, but I think I know my WU from my WOO WOO. I didn't just get on the train some time early this morning. I've been doing philosophy for a while now tbh.

LDT practice is a core practice well worth cultivating. Keep going. If it's an intellectual framework you want for your practice you may desire to read some Taoist literature.

if thats that energy, you are asking a question, while you should start actually telling things, doesn't matter if wrong or right, just share your thing. You will become depleted easy.

I highly recommend the system known as Stillness-Movement, taught by Michael Lomax (who is known on this forum as "Ya Mu"). Stillness-Movement is specifically intended to develop healing skills such as you recently discovered.

I would venture that either you have an overactive imagination...or have received your "call to adventure" with a spiritual initiation (transitory peak experience).

- If the former is the case, then you wouldn't be able to actually perform any objective "siddhis" (verifiable healings, ability to root and withstand pushes, etc) at all.  Most of your self-appraisal is based merely upon internal subjective sensations - but little else...  There are no "objective" measures.

- Now, if the latter is the case, then the key word is transitory...  You may have experienced some genuinely undeniable, extraordinary phenomena.  But, you won't be able to replicate any such "beginner's luck," especially at will.  Furthermore, the road actually goes uphill (or should I say, delves down into the subconscious) from there as initiation is always followed by hazing, lol...

In either case, I would recommend building a solid foundation as your next step.

The only outside exception would be if you are somehow able to continually experience and perform subjective and objective feats of advanced skill at will.  Then, you probably wouldn't have to do any remedial work because you have somehow already gained a massive head start in life.  But, I seriously doubt this scenario for most anyone...and time will likely quickly tell. :D

Actually 5 people were in the room and they all saw what happened when I did the healing. They said it's the first time she hadn't felt pain in a long time. She was crying and couldn't walk when I entered the house. So obviously my "subjective" imagination must be able to affect the material world "objectivity" or something.

NO SUCH THING AS SUBJECT-OBJECT DISTINCTIONS OUTSIDE WESTERN METAPHYSICS MY FRIEND. The metaphysical subject and the individualised soul only came into being with Plato. There can be no homogeneous subject predicates through the passage of time without Aristotle's "metaphysics of presence" and that error in thinking opens the door to Western Logic.

Perhaps if you read Heidegger's What is Metaphysics you'll understand the difference between pre-Socratic Logos and castrated abstract logic. But, I won't hold my breath on it. Failing that you could always go to Drew Hempel's blog and ask him nicely to spell it out for you because he understands what I'm talking about, plus he's been good enough to help me out so I think he deserves credit here and he's even blogged about me too!

https://voidisyinyang.blogspot.com/2017/03/awesome-first-time-healing-report.html

I haven't got a google account atm to reply so perhaps you can say thanks to Drew from me!

I'm not even about to try and explain the structural "subconscious" to you in the context of our post-structural ontology of the simulated simulacra :D

Okay to be serious here I'M NOT ASKING FOR PEOPLE TO CRITIQUE MY POST NOR ASKING FOR PEOPLE'S PERSONAL OPINIONS. I AM ASKING FOR HELP WITH A DAILY ROUTINE.

EDIT: I advise you go and listen to the chapter from John David Ebert's book on youtube which explains problems with Joseph Campbell thinking (he believed in the unconscious too believe it or not) seeing as your linking Campbell's stuff here to try and explain your fantasies about me. Ebert worked at the Joseph Campbell institute and wrote the footnotes for Campbell's posthumous works.

Yeap, Campbell didn't understand the influence of the phonetic word on the sensorium.

Anyway I'm not here to be nasty to anyone or looking for approval. But it genuinely gets tiresome when people always say I don't know what I'm talking about. I literally am never rude to other people even when I'm certain they don't know their ass from their elbow. Think I'm a charlatan if you like, it's not really my business. But I've tried to give a fair account in my first post about what I know and what help I think I need. I would really appreciate some help and fewer personal opinions. THANKS!

Honestly I'd love to heal people but I don't think it's going to happen and I'll just end up keeping these things to myself IRL. I have no care to share what I know with other people because it will only come back to haunt me.

you described something what according to one tradition of many Buddhism is an insight knowledge. Get someone to diagnose  you what insight it is.

You should really read about Vipassana knowledges. You would have practice for life and get on a PATH.

Why you don't follow the intuition or the smell of expectation?

You seem to know what answer you are expecting to get.

Obviously I do follow my intuitions, but they are not something I consciously calculate in my mind. It's more like something external to me which pulls me along. Not in a bad way or anything.

All I'm asking is help organising a daily routine!

Like:

1 40 mins standing exercise in the morning which will help with such and such

2 20 mins yoga stretching for the physical body because you're not very flexible

3 20 mins moving yin yang to open the thrusting channel

4 when you mediate sometimes practise the MCO and sometimes just concentrate on the LDT

etc.

I don't even know what I'm supposed to be doing if I sit and mediate or for what purpose.

here you go...

why don't you research on this part? Yourself.

Why do you need to sit and meditate. Do you "need"? What is the purpose of it? How many meditations types are there? What is the goal of the meditation? What are good/bad things to happen? How long should you meditate ( i.e. length of the practice in min and in days i.e. 20*2 for 40/108 days as an example)... You are smart, you will figure it out...

check out your local bookstore. it will be easier than doing same thing on internet. Internet is full of junk, bookstores are at least curated....

Well, I can sit on my bed hunched over my laptop with my eyes open while I breathe into the LDT and feel the heat. Does that pass for mediation? Because that's what I've been doing. Or should I put some time aside and sit cross-legged on the floor with my back straight and my eyes shut and... (breathe into the heat? practise the MCO?)

That's what I'm asking. I'll work it out given the time, but I was just wondering because I have never actually sat down and mediated before. I didn't know anything about these things prior to activating my LDT about 5 weeks ago and at that time I had no idea these things were so real. I didn't even know the LDT got hot so that's why I joined the forum, I was wondering where to store the heat. Okay eventually it went away, but I didn't know anything about this stuff at the time.

Obviously I had studied philosophy to a pretty high level prior to joining the forum and I didn't just take up philosophy 4 weeks ago :P

LOL.

The thing is now I have activated the LDT I can't just turn it off. So I'm just looking for some help. It's not like I'm having a crisis or anything. Just looking for some pointers to get me started with meditation! I thought that's what the forum was about, helping each other. Sure I can work this stuff out myself, but I thought I might as well ask for some help and see if anything good comes from it. Someone might come up with some great ideas. Who knows?

okay, here it is:

1. Get into quite place where no one can disturb you.

2. Sit in a comfortable position. ( does not matter how at this point, don't do fancy full lotus if you never done it before)

3. Set a timer for 20 minutes.

4. Sit and observe. Energy, thoughts, visions, nothing, boredom, etc. If your LD is running, just note it, but don't fixate, just let the feeling and thought go.

5. When timer buzzes. End the meditation.

Repeat this twice a day.

Report about your findings here for 3 days. You can report after each meditation. With your sensitivity ( I am playing your ego here, btw), you might achieve results very fast.

This is the most classic meditation as touted everywhere( no linages attached, as many claim it to be their OWN). Let's see what you find in it...

OK well, just for the heck of it...

Actually 5 people were in the room and they all saw what happened when I did the healing. They said it's the first time she hadn't felt pain in a long time. She was crying and couldn't walk when I entered the house. So obviously my "subjective" imagination must be able to affect the material world "objectivity" or something.

OK, so just do it again and document it this time.  Or just do it again to see if you even can, for your own sake.

BTW, I thoroughly enjoyed all of drewhempel's numerous anecdotes of remotely giving random girls orgasms at a distance on here - but he always steadfastly refused to ever video even a single instance of them.  I wonder why?

If you truly understand it so well, then why can't YOU just spell it out for me?  Or can you only talk about it (but not explain it yourself), as you said...

I'm not even about to try and explain the structural "subconscious" to you in the context of our post-structural ontology of the simulated simulacra :D

If you can't explain something simply enough so a 5-yo can understand it, then YOU don't really understand it.  For example, where does the wind come from?  Where does the word "middle" come from?  Etc, etc...

Okay to be serious here I'M NOT ASKING FOR PEOPLE TO CRITIQUE MY POST NOR ASKING FOR PEOPLE'S PERSONAL OPINIONS. I AM ASKING FOR HELP WITH A DAILY ROUTINE.

Funny, all the responses here thus far have been peoples' personal opinions.  Yet, you didn't have a problem with them until now - once your actual "level" was questioned.

So, are you really just asking for help with a daily routine...or humblebragging and seeking validation?

EDIT: I advise you go and listen to the chapter from John David Ebert's book on youtube which explains problems with Joseph Campbell thinking (he believed in the unconscious too believe it or not) seeing as your linking Campbell's stuff here to try and explain your fantasies about me. Again, Cliffs Notes please?  Mind unscrambling his rambling word salad that seems to be something about the fall of Western Civilization?

Yeap, Campbell didn't understand the influence of the phonetic word on the sensorium.

And again, what is that influence?  Do you have enough comprehension to hold your own dialogue, rather than just cutting & pasting a bunch of links from people who you believe do?

I don't really have bad thoughts, I have been doing philosophy for a while. I always catch myself when I fall into diseased patterns of thought which get tangled up in negative emotions. I said to the other people in the room that my friend was in a state of complete love when she went quiet because that is the energy I was sending. I don't think bad of people really and I don't get angry with people with different views from mine. I don't vote or follow politics, go shopping or anything like that!

Lol, well you sure could have fooled me!

Look, maybe you just are young, gifted, and talented?  If so, then prove it with time. B)

But, based on how easily triggered you seem to be, I'd say you've got a lot of emotional clearing/maturing to do just like the rest of us...

I would recommend choosing a good qigong or neigong system.

This will create a routine for you that has goals and structure. It seems you have a lot of inherent talent, your just lookin for structure.

There's many good systems around here that will help you hone your skills.

Choose one that speaks to you.

Drew Hempel is the real deal. I knew it instantly. The first thing I said to my friend who'd posted the link is "I'm 100% going full lotus" then all I did was 5 days celibacy, wim hof shaking knees and there you have it. Nature was no longer subdued within, or without. I have a good daemon for guidance, so it must have slapped me in the face when I saw Drew's stuff LOL

Anyway, the link which was posted concerned NeoPlatonism and that goes over the same stuff I'm talking about with Plato and Aristotle. It's all abstraction and nothing concrete (like the Dao).

http://www.thedaobums.com/topic/28646-pythagoras-neoplatonism-maths-geometry/

If you can't explain something simply enough so a 5-yo can understand it, then YOU don't really understand it.  For example, where does the wind come from?

So you think the Dao can be explained to a 5 year old? If that were the case then what are we all doing here? I am racing against the sands of time to met the Dao before the death of the corporeal body. It's my destiny -- a titanic battle against the forces of nature to stand face to face with all and nothing.

So then why are "you" arguing with "me?"

You're the one who started the argument in case you forgot, not me! and if I were really upset by you I wouldn't have been able to accumulate all this qi I have. Sure if people want to try and throw fast balls in my direction I can either hit them into orbit or bat them back 10 times harder. It's just boring having to listen to people years on end telling me I'm stupid. How can I respond to that? Obviously if they knew what I was talking about they wouldn't be calling me stupid d'uh!

Again, Cliffs Notes please?  Mind unscrambling his rambling word salad that seems to be something about the fall of Western Civilization?

Well, that's the Platonic abstraction imploding in on itself into electronic immanence. It simulates the effects of oral culture but through our tools i.e. what your looking at right now. FAKE NEWS. Real news is Dao in case your unaware. The fake news plays on discarnate man's organs. Like the monkey on the organ grinder LOL.

Look, maybe you just are young, gifted, and talented?  If so, then prove it with time.

Brian (I think) said I shouldn't do this stuff on living things. But, I can maybe call my friend in a week and perhaps see her again and see what she says. If the leg is bad again and she says she was okay with the last healing then I'll try it again. I'm not sure I should try it on other people randomly. I like the guys who live there, but I was just passing by and they all take drugs and stuff and I'll only do that kind of thing once every 2 months or so.  But, I'll call back in 5 days or whatever and maybe see her again. She was saying she didn't have the money for the taxi ride so if her leg's bad she'll want to come back.

So, if it happens I'll take pictures this time!
