Celiac Disease Antibody Tests (tTG)

Recommended Posts

Hi there.

It's been suspected by me, my friends, and some doctors that I have celiac disease, which gave numerous symptoms such as muscle pain, weakness and tension, joint, muscle and even tendon inflammation, back stiffness as well as fatigue,  concentration problems etc, bad eyesight, light and sound sensitivity, head aches, and so on. I've had it for about 3 years, until recently when I stopped eating gluten and other inflammatory things. After 4-5 months now I feel A LOT better, and most symptoms have diminished by about 80%.

I still have stomach pains, problems with elimination and a bloated, swollen belly. I feel very nauseous in the mornings or when I have an empty stomach.

I am scheduled for an actual test right now and hence my question: Is it worth it?

I would have to eat some gluten produce for about a week and then do a test. I'm afraid it's a bit risky, as even tiny amounts ate recently by accident caused acid reflux, and muscle strain for the next 5 days.

I hear that symptoms abide fully after over a year, I don't want to delay the process any further, but I surely would like to know for sure if I have an intolerance, otherwise it could be something more serious. I suspect helicobacter pylori too, but the doctor wasn't very cooperative. He told me to "get a grip" and only scheduled the tTG antibodies for now.

What are your thoughts? Will eating some bread or pasta for 1 weak ruin some of the hard earned recovery I'm doing right now?

Personally, I would do the testing to eliminate the possibility of other issues.

I hope everything works out and you get the answers you need.

Love and healing to you...

I had H.Pylori and trouble with food so I got on antibiotics and other stuff like garlic, broccoli etc. I had similar problems for a whole year and started suspecting its celiac but when I finally went to doctors and they ran bunch of tests as I started having a bloody stool, they soon diagnosed me with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis or PSC. They didn't find any H.Pylori anymore and also I don't have celiac disease but I discarded gluten as it was impossible for me to continue with it along with many other foods. My advice go see a doctor better sooner then later.
