What's REALLY possible from Magic/Magik/Magick? What have you achieved?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm just interested in the scope of what is supposedly possible through magical practices, AND, would like to hear personal stories of what any of you've managed to achieve through it.

Primarily interested in ESP and healing stuff, but, any manifestation, Siddhi/Siddhis in general, invocations, OBE, Astral Travel, anything interesting I guess.

Cheers guys

You would have to narrow that down a LOT more :). What isn't possible would be a much shorter list.

I have yet to see anyone win billions on the lottery (odd are too great).

It is all a matter of training though. OK so say you want some fancy siddhi, well they take a LOT of training, and does one really want to focus on that alone? You just aren't going to get stupendous results training 20 different things.

Though there are what I call "side affects" to practicing magic ;).

The possible experiences are greatly varied. The way to them is constant practice.

For instance oobe {for me and 'most' people I know} takes constant work via the relax down to vibration state and roll out method.

It guarantees success if carried through and I had great experiences and witnessed events i was able verify, though it takes so much time that its not worth it for me these days. I have other easier methods now that also serve to fulfill other functions.

Invocation/Evocation/spirit work leads to so many strange kinds of experience that it would take all day trying to describe even half the experiences I have had, let alone the entire range of possible experiences.

A quick reply from my own bank would describe 'miraculous' seeming healings, watching spirits move physical objects, flows of good or bad luck, attracting lovers ~ quickly, successfully cursing enemies, countering malicious magick, being taken on trips through the cosmos, being warned of danger, being physically saved by being pushed out of the way of an unseen speeding car, entering an ongoing love relationship with a demigoddess, possession {in the best possible way}, exorcising spirits from others and needing entity removal work myself at one point...

But more importantly, being helped along the path of the great work by Beings far wiser and more powerful than myself. Beings who have my back, who only kick my ass when I really need it, and who really count as some of the greatest friends one could wish for.

The feelings and understanding of interconnectivity that come from this kind of work alone make every second of these disciplines utterly worthwhile.

Deeper again is the learning about the nature of the consciousness and the universe, Gnosis in its active and passive forms...

I'd suggest looking at diet pretty seriously, may yeild faster results (although refining diet could take years depending on commitment/ will power + knowledge/experimentation) ... I think many are battling with a corrupted battery/ spark plug/ the proper fuel for greater perception/experience isn't being utilized ... in ancient Taoism diet is very important in becoming an Immortal (from my understanding it is a transition of density/ frequency - lower to higher (you are what you eat, has much influence on how you think)). Ayurveda/ Yogic thought is probably most accessible at present http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sattvic_diet

With the proper diet things will come more naturally (with ease) ... intuition will increase, healing well come and you will feel more connection to the environment and the beings around you, human + animal. The more pure and simple the diet in my experience + reading of others the more pronounced these things become...or help drastically. Happiness/contentment/ joy and a peaceful mind will flow (rare, magical today it seems).

As far as I'm aware, I'm not dining with the Yellow Emperor while sleeping, or something like that, alas. But I do have some personal experiences that seem quite in line with Tao Wizard's query.

Back in the 90s, I was active as a certified Bach Flower therapist. I had the great opportunity to work with the patients of a psychiatric practice during six years. I would regularly "tune into" my patients prior to meeting them, using a technique I had learned in the Silva Mind Control seminar and refined through practice together with a bunch of fellow attendees. I was strongly influenced by the book The Creation of Health written by Caroline Myss, a psychic diagnostician who was working together with a doctor, just like me. Even before meeting a scheduled patient for the first time, I would visualise them in my imaginary "laboratory". Frequently, when seeing them later, I found they really looked the way I had imagined them. Having established this psychic connection, I proceeded by scanning their chakras one by one in front of my mind's eye which lead me to their psychological and physical difficulties. I would perceive all this with a combination of inner vision and empathy (I felt their condition myself, which was not always a pleasant thing to do). When a patient showed up in the practice for the first time later, I knew quite a lot about them already! I would repeat my psychic analysis of the same patient before the following counselling sessions, and sometimes even in their presence, if I felt they were open-minded in this regard.

I did this so many times, I'm really not sure which story to share here! But I will think of some suitable ones on request.

I didn't limit myself to using psychic diagnosis, however. I would employ other methods as well, such as astrology and, most importantly, simply talking with the folks! It goes such a long way for ascertaining what exactly somebody needs for their betterment, for which I was trying to draw on the abilities of both my left and right cerebral hemispheres. Moreover, it was important establishing a relationship of trust and understanding that would help induce healing.

Hi, about 6 years ago i awakened my third eye (shen i guess) ever since i get pressure/bliss daily, 4-5 years ago i tried a meditation to open my heart centre and since then also get spontaneous sensation however ill health and addictions, thought patterns have held me back and it is frustrating because two years ago i used to get really deep liquid bliss in both centers. Feels like i have degenerated/regressed.

Anyway once i was dancing like an idiot to drum and bass i twisted my ankle, it hurt allot despite all the bliss i was feeling in my third eye and heart at the time, i sat in a chair and hung it in the air and it still hurt. Then i remember reading that people who have Scorpio ascendants have strong healing abilities so inspired by this i focused all my bliss into my ankle and i did not doubt i could do it and amazingly the pain completely went...so i got up and started dancing some more :P

I also feel allot of chi/bliss in my hands, rarely i seem to be able to do this on command but it happens spontaneously daily, i want to learn how to change that bliss/chi into heat so i can use it for healing/burning things.... i have really bad irritable bowl atm, im fatigued have pain and tinnitis...its frustrating because i know its holding me back and i think i have had it to an extent for at least 5 years but probably my whole life but within the last 3 i have had allot of anti biotics and then becaue i thought i had candida accidentally made it worse by taking allot of anti fungals.

Anway i got better after taking probiotics called symprove and i think fermented cod liver oil helped...but i relapsed on my addictions and bad foods...cookies,cereal. Sorry trying to be brief here, anyway its gotten really bad again symprove not working this time perhaps because i dont have fish oil, but now i did a FMT and am taking new probiotics i think i might be recovering again.

It just irritates me to know its held me back and been responsible for allot of my bi-polarity, i think antibiotics are partly to blame, hopefully i will heal and overcome all the things holding me back and tap into more bliss and rise like a phoenix.

I want to try the RBTI diet once my gut has healed and i have money for the testing, apparently it looks at your body chemistry allowing you to tweek what and when you eat ect so that you have the perfect balance and can be in a state of healing...hope its not bullshit, Reams Biological Theory of Ionization

This is more common than one would think. That much to early on can really screw up one's energy system. Most especially if it is centered around the head...

Fixes include: a good teacher; qigong by a martial arts teacher who is grounded and balanced; a buttload of grounding.

Potatoes.

We're harvesting right now.

Delicious they are.

We cultivated them, they did all the growing..

That's magic.

I think scope is unlimited to your imagination. What you can actually do, well.... What can a placebo do? Heal lots of diseases, but can't make you cash. If ya want cash you have to take it off those who have lots.

I'm sure if somebody puts piles of effort and time into something they can do it using magic, but it hardly ends up being worth the effort just to be a show-off. I would think that it's only if you have a real hate for somebody that you would want to curse them with a lot of effort.

Magic is more of a form of entertainment... it becomes entertaining the way in which you do a task. In most circumstances it would be much quicker and easier to just do it without magic.

Eg. In healing tao iron shirt I book they have a testimonial of somebody who cured a large stomach ulcer (plus bad back) with 3 months of HT. Drinking cabbage juice daily can cure an ulcer in 7 days according to clinical testing. Perhaps magic is good when you don't have the answer. Maybe I am just being cynical?

Yes i had heard later on it can imbalance people, i was 21 when i initially activated my third eye. However i think that is because i already had an addictive personality, one i am really suffering for now and i think apart from my own inclination towards being intense and obsessive i grw up eating allot of sugary cereals. Coco pop, no joke i think if only my parents told me not to eat them and why i would have had more self control. It has like 36 grams of sugar per 100 grams and i used to eat like 4-6 bowls a day, no wonder i always felt unsatisfied, sugar releases dopamine and what else realeases dopamine porn and i naturally had a high sex drive... i knew it was bad on some level but when i abstained i would have a build of energy in my dan tien but nothing to to focuse that energy on as an outlet... it actually still bothers me to think of all that wasted potential.

Anyway so yeah pretty much over doing things, i did have an elemental qi gong teacher but she has stopped teaching which is a real bummer because i loved practicing that, i dont remember nearly enough of it and i do wish i knew more earth element. Funny thing is when i looked at my astrological chart, cant remember the name of the website, i had like 43 planets in fire, 7 in water, 6 in air and only one in earth.

I am very ungrounded often in fantasy rather than in the moment interacting with people, i did meet a girl last year that got me in the moment but i messed it up dealing with addictions and terrible IBS... i dont want to believe in any of this twin flame nonsense but its a good explanation for the experience. I hate the way she makes me feel, i cant forget about her and i cant be with her cause i have issues...she is such a prude, driven to be successful materially, strong boundaries, grounded...complete op postie to me :P. God why am i talking about her, wish there was a drug i could take to cure oneitis.

If anyone could suggest some practices i could do for grounding that would be much appreciated, i should probably look some up myself, i already practice flying phoenix and reiki but those are celestial energies i guess so not what i need. Maybe i should completely focus on grounding energies and my other energies will follow. Funny because i have ibs would that also be associated with my lower chakras and earth?

There is no such thing as magic or the supernatural.

Yeah i used to think this too, but now i know it to be true. I think often what people don't understand is that people are ignorant to the terms and vocabulary of magic, and what people are actually referring to when they are speaking 'magic talk'.

Infact what people refer to as magic is actually very real and if it was explained to everybody in terms that they understood they wouldn't deny that it existed either. The thing is we grow up watching tv and movies and think magic is a lighting bolt coming out of a magic wand but of course that ain't real.

The same is true of God. People don't believe in it because they don't understand what people mean by God. It's not explained well. I went to a christian high school and i still had no idea what god meant and didn't believe. Now it's so obvious and evident that God does exist, and God always did before too, it's just i didn't know what they were referring to as god. Again, it's nothing like in the movies or stories :)

Only sciences which we don't understand.

I agree, this has always been the case, but, potato potaaaarto.

In ancient Greece, rome, or one o them places, they used to think that these lakes were magic. They had healing properties to cure "possessed" people. Now we know that they had lithium in them, a common mood stabiliser, and these people were probably bipolar/manic.

We didn't believe in germs until quite recently, and so on.

Currently, higher mechanisms of action/laws of the universe than we can, at the moment, easily empirically measure (or maybe never will be able to) and/or manipulate, we call magic/k/ck. This has always been the case.

This is what I'm currently referring to now. Unless someone can provide a better name.

This is a pretty unclear post: ESP, Astral travel and Out of Body Experiences are not "magic". These are abilities that can be learned and are taught in many traditions. Typically these are not associated with practices of magic though practitioners of magic may learn them.

Magic may be defined as:

Bending the elements to your will.

For many of us here it is considered a detour and extremely dangerous - primarily because it is so easy to grab a hold of a load of karma with it even though the intent in using and learning it was quite positive. At a certain point there is no sanctity in ignorance.

Meddling creates karma at a far greater level than an act of angry obstruction. One is done "consciously" while the other may be done out of anger or jealousy - "conscious hoaxing and cursing" is in a whole other ball game of karma.

When one learns to leave ones body, to use intuition, to work with ones energy channels or with other spirits - this is typically not considered magic.

Much of the exchange here in The Tao Bums (TTBs) is tempered because we have quite a few practitioners of magic here - it is why quite a bit of information is not shared. Most of the highest levels of eastern teaching are kept secret specifically to keep it out of the hands of practitioners of magic and it is one of the reasons the magic practitioners are here in these forums - good info makes its way here from time to time that can be very helpful to any form of a magician.

I have never seen this topic brought up here or spoken of in this way but I certainly cannot be the first to feel this way or to withhold information because of it.

Given that you posted the way you did it seemed appropriate to mention this because at least for some of us there are many paths to take if you are on the road to enlightenment - magic is definitely considered by many of us to be a detour - and only a detour at best.

I also posted it here because it would be great to air this out in a forum post that has many with another viewpoint.

I will end this with a small note - we have a very fine broom mounted on our wall here at home and my wife is a witch - so do not think I am so rigid on this as one might assume.

Just because you can't do it and can't perceive it, doesn't mean it does not exist.

Due to my presence here less is shared? Well that sucks :(.

Ah well.

He's right though, many different traditions do practice what I consider magic, and also what I have practiced as a magician my entire life :). They just use different terminology for it.
